I love the music and art of this game. I was a little confuse on how to play at first but when I got there it was fun. Good game.

The pixel art in this game is incredible. I am pretty bad at the whack a mole gameplay lol, my high score was only like 52. Great job on this!

Submitted

Cool idea, but specially, excelent art! Loved the art. Good job!

Fun to play. I Liked the art

Really liked the art. For a solo dev its amazing you could achieve this.

Some feedback i have if it helps you:

  • The sound options didnt work, hehe
  • The steps sound was annoying at some point and i felt was not well sync also
  • There were some lack of feedback when i had no more water, could be great to put more attention into that, sounds, arrows, everything
  • Also maybe more time before plants emerge, as i had little to no time to get there
  • A dash could be awesome, these kind of games that require to move around a lot, could really benefit from a mechanic like that otherwise the movement gets boring i feel and you want the player to feel that pressure moving fast
  • Maybe, just maybe, what if water plant and refill just happens and the challange is moving the player and deciding when to go for water, i played all the time pressing space and i had no problem which makes me think why i wouldnt press that key

Good job anyway!

cute cartoony thick lined characters got me interested in this.

ohhh I knew the robot seemed familiar, feeling so stupid for not having recognised from the get go.

Wonderful graphics and loved seeing the Godot bot given life!! (I always try to sneak an icon.svg into my game but this takes it to the next level!)

I'll echo the popular request for a dash move! I wish there was a way to water every plant but a lot of times you have to pick and choose, and sometimes even decide "i can't reach that one,  I won't even try" because of the move speed limitations. I wanted to save them all!

Great graphics, nice music, solid and fun gameplay loop. Excellent work!

Your art style is so clean. The main character in particular is so adorable and full of personality. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to see the games you make in the future.

Love the art style and the gameplay loop is fun ! Easy to understand and intuitive everything is really coherent. Congratulations

Go godot-bot! It was fun and cute, though the music sounded panned hard to the left for some reason (was it on an audiostream2d off to the left or just made that way?). I found the footstep sound effects got old pretty quickly. Whenever you have a repetitive sound effect in a game, it really helps to, say, throw it on an AudioStreamRandomizer instead of just as an AudioStream - even if you only have one sound, having it randomize its pitch by like 1.05 can really make it much more pleasant and all the sound effects could’ve benefited from that I think. As far as I could tell, the audio menu didn’t do anything either?

Anwyay, besides some very minor audio quibbles, this was a really charming and fun time :)

Thanks! I implemented all the audio in the last 2 hours of the jam so it's a complete mess haha. I didn't even know about AudioStreamRandomizer so thank you! Will use that from now on.

It's a very nice game, I like the art but the plants were disappearing too fast from too early, maybe let them stay for a couple more seconds and as the time pass by, increase the game speed, well done!

Developer

I messed up and didn't implement delta time properly so the game isn't running the same on everyone's computers. It's all well balanced on my computer :(

Great game, adorable assets.

Love the art!! Everythings so expressive

I liked the graphical design and interface, gameplay feels random though. Player's movement speed is slow, and there is a water tank that needs to be refilled, which could be a solid part of a tactical game. But flowers pop up at random and disappear quickly, like moles in the classical Whac-A-Mole game, which requires easy reach and good reaction time.

The game is too pretty, if it had a dash button you could save more plants, but the game is fun.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Seems like a dash is a popular request. Will keep that in mind for next time

Good game! LOVE the art style and the progressive changes in music. Would love to have a run/dash button to avoid seeing most of my plants dying, ha. Great job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I wanted to keep the mechanics super simple so I omitted dash but ya I could see that being pretty fun. Also great job on your game btw. I was super impressed by the amount of content

Absolutely gorgeous and really simple and fun gameplay :)

Thanks :)
