Greate work on theme, gameplay, and music.
If you're unable to move after pressing play, best bet is to refresh your page. Just a heads up to those people not leaving comments if this issue occurs.
Interesting take on the theme and core gameplay, good idea to distord the music while in the second dimension too! While playing I thought of two potential improvements that could improve the game:
- the ability to switch position with a block when close to it, to avoid the issue when a block is stuck and you have to reset the whole level (which can be frustrating for the player)
- add a vertical dead zone to the camera (if you used cinemachine with unity there is the option to do that), because when you start to move fast between the two sides it can be very nauseous with the camera moving very very fast to keep the player in the center of the screen
Still a pretty solid entry in the jam even with those problems, so overall good job :)
Thanks for your feedback, I'll definitely look into implementing those features.
Nice take on the theme the physics of the ball is really cool, a bit hard but cool
Thanks for the feedback!
Close but not quite :)
No this
really cool take on the theme, It got hard really soon, the boxes slipped i thought that was super fun it was a little frustrating but i had a good time most of the time the art is good the music actually wasn't cursed, only one thing i will say is some sound effects will be good but seriously impressed by the result, Awesome Game =D
Thanks for the feedback and nice response!
This is a solid little game! It was a bit frustrating, but I dont have anything else to add. Great job!
Yep, some people will get the hang of it, while others like my brother will just be stuck on frustrating parts. Puzzle games are a hit or miss especially with the weird physics!
Yeah, certainly!
Cool game! It was a bit hard to control for me and lots of restarts ;)... Great entry in general tho. Good job!
Thanks for the feedback!
Really nice take on the theme, and really fun flinging myself around the levels! Really great job!
The game had charm when I could swing myself around. The colliders could have been a bit better, but overall good job.
💜
Yep! We spent a lot of the time adjusting levels and making them, colliders are definitely quite buggy, a fix for the future. Thanks for the feedback!
This is a lot of fun. I enjoyed flinging myself between the two sides. There was a problem I kept running into where If you push a box too close to a wall, you have to restart. But still, you did a Great Job.
Thanks for the feedback!
Gameplay: I really liked the puzzles, but the physics were a bit janky, and I feel like the boxes could use a bit more friction.
Visuals: Not great.
Audio: I didn't love the music it was kinda weird.
Theme: Nice take on the theme that led to interesting levels.
Overall: Could be polished a lot more but it's pretty fun!
Thanks for the feedback! Due to us being new to this kind of game, we decided a really simple aesthetic would make it a lot easier to adjust and create puzzles for the weird physics. For audio, it was a mix of classical music that we hoped would match the puzzle theme. Collision and more definitely could be more polished for future updated!
cant figure out the first level... How do you use the box? What do you use it for? How do i get past the poles (theyre on both sides, aren't they?)
For the first level, you push the box onto the pressure plate, and it opens the door. The game works with both sides, the top half being normal gravity, the bottom half being reversed gravity.
Reminded me of an old phone game. Nostalgic!
Nice art, awesome gravity mechanic!
If you want you can also rate our game. Hope you will enjoy it!
Thanks for the nice feedback, we'll be sure to check out your game too!
The gravity mechanic is very fun, reminds me of looping through portals in a good way. This is a cool twist on a platformer.
Good game. Hard at first. Wonder what the name means(?).
We had half an hour to come up with a name, so, ya know, hemisphere, two sides of the earth, inversed gravity, except instead of a sphere, its two sides. IT WAS GONNA BE SWITCH BALL LMAO :)
And I had 1 hour to add levels. So I know :) Also, at first, the other side looked like water to me.
lmao, the first thing I thought of when two sides came to mind was stranger things.
first level was great! I was excited for the game! But the second level was so challenging having to restart anytime a box ended up in a corner on on the corner of invisible colliders. Puzzles seem to be good and not too difficult, but the execution of solving the puzzles was the hardest part because if a block ended up in a corner, you had to start all over. Great ideas and cool take on the theme!
I liked the polished menu!
buttons being pushed down was not visual so that was confusing - needs indicator, or audio.
Pretty good for a start
Working with weird physics was definitely a challenge in level design and involved a lot of adjustments. The collision would be a future aspect to work on seeing how there are lots of bugs. Thanks for the feedback!
For the buttons, we just stuck with unities default grey out for a visual press down.
Physics is so hard to figure out! Good luck!
fun game.
This game was pretty fun! Some of the puzzles were pretty challenging and I felt very accomplished when I was able to solve one. Moving boxes around felt a little janky since they got stuck of walls very easily, which is really annoying since you would have to restart the entire level. I think being able to launch up ridiculously high from switching between sides was super great though!
Thanks for your feedback! I'll try to work on the collision more next time. :)
If its buggy, there is a 90% chance that it is due to WEBGL. Also, recommendation to turn on cursed music in settings
Edit: cursed music option changes the way the music sounds for clarification - Evan
