Just finished playing yours, I am a sucker for minimalism and your art style reminded me of how i used to draw initially xD. The idea was really nice and i loved the puzzle element as well. you did a great job!

Developer

xDD. Thanks for playing :)

I liked the idea of the game. It's really fun. Also, I loved that you added the puzzle element to the game. Music and sound effects are really cool and also, it gave me little nostalgia when I used to run to catch the school bus. I think the art could be improved. I loved the environment setup though, you included a lot of things, but I think it would have looked really better if the objects were having clean design.

Developer

Yeah, I´m going to remake pretty much all of the sprites after the game jam. Glad you enjoyed it!

Pretty cool game, I really liked his jumping animation, the movement and grabbing was a bit jittery at times. But still cool game :)

Developer

Thanks :)

Art is strange, but it's ok, the music and sfx are awesome. Good job!

Developer

Yeah, art is kind of simple, but thanks forplaying!

Submitted

I like your game. It's a lot of fun.

Developer

Thank you :)

Cool fun game,  I like the concept, the visuals could have been better.

Developer

Yeah, I´m not that good at art. But after the game jam ends, I´m going to polish them!

Submitted

I am sure you will make a great job.

Nice game, took me a while to figure the controls, but fun overall ! :)

Developer

Thanks :)

great game!!! very fun to play!  i liked the semi puzzle aspects of the game, lots of potential for a speedrun based game, (how many times will i say game lol) the controls are smooth, congratulations!!

Developer(+1)

Yeah, there is potential for a speedrun game. Any% WR when?

Submitted

rly fun and its rly smooth!

Developer(+1)

Thanks!

Great job, it's a good concept with some charming graphics. Id love to see this expanded on if you continued to work on it. Well done!

Awesome work, feel free to check out my submission too if you have the time :)

Developer

I already rated your game too! Cool game :). Thanks for playing!

I like the art and the funny walk animation :) some feedback i can give is that at some point there was a moving platform in the sky and when i jumped on it it did not take the character along with it, and i still had to do manual movement. Would be nice if it took the character along. But overall good job, keep it up :)

Developer

Yeah, I wanted to add difficulty by having to move manually, but thanks for the feedback!.

cool game

I actually like the art style, a bit clunky at times but a fun and quick play

Submitted

Good game. I liked 8-bit music and the character animation is kind of fun.

Developer

Thanks :)

Really fun game! The ladders were a little finicky, but I was able to figure them out. I had a lot of fun playing it, but I don't really see how it fits the theme.

Developer

Thanks for playing. The idea I wanted to put in the game, is that I focused more on the gameplay of the game, and adding that sensation of panic as the time goes lower, in one minute. So I wanted to put more things in only one minute of gameplay (and if you choose the different game modes, there is even less time). So I went for the simple art style, that while is not the best, I think  it represents the "less is more" theme.

Nice, short game. With that timer there is a pressure to get there as fast as you can. Nice job on finishing and submitting you game!

Developer

Thanks a lot! Your game was really cool too

Beat it. Kept trying to pull the boxes on the left at the beginning since they use the same sprites that your movable boxes use, but eventually got it. The ladders and moving platforms were a bit fiddly, but it was doable. Nice job.

Developer

Thanks! :). After the game jam ends, I´m going to change the sprites!

Submitted

Ok let's start with saying that i like it.

Art is not great. It's not case of skill, it's just very inconsistent. Some objects have outline some other don't, some are shaded other are not etc. Music and SFX even if not made by you were a good choice.

I love the way it makes you feel the time pressure in the somehow (don't ask me why) realistic and funny way at the same time. I'll speedrun it for lolz (probably not sober tho XD)

Developer(+1)

Yeah art is not my strong area lol. Thanks for playing!

Nice game. Good idea. Good gameplay. I like the art. Good job!

Please check my game as well ;)

Developer

Thanks a lot! Gonna check your game out!

Developer

If you want, you can watch the gameplay here:

Your bus is leaving in exactly one minute! Go as fast as you can.

You can play in 3 different modes: Normal Mode (you have 60 seconds), Hard Mode (you have 30 seconds) and Extreme Mode (you have only 20 seconds!).

Move with  left and right  with your arrows!

Jump with the up arrow.

You can simply push a box by running into it, or pull it with "E".

You can reset the level with "R".

You can pause the game with "Esc"

Almost everything was done for me, except for the music and SFX.

The soundtrack was done by NicoleMarieT. Check the page out!: https://nicolemariet.itch.io/spy-8-bit-16-bit.
