How does your game fit the theme?
Our team chose to interpret the theme “Diving Deeper” metaphorically, and opted for emotional storytelling through narrative, audiovisuals, and mechanics as our game’s core pillar. The player dives deeper into the character’s subconscious in order to reconstruct their memory: an omniscient narrator guides you as you navigate a liminal world. Take on the form of a raven, representative of the protagonist’s soul, as you dive deeper into yourself and uncover the mysteries of your own mind.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
- Everything you see in the game is made from scratch, barring some of our 3D environment assets, and the fonts. All were downloaded for free.

List:

Excellent entry into the game jam. I appreciate the more unique interpretation of the game jam's theme, and the audio-visual presentation ties everything together into a great game you guys should be proud of! Definitely will see this one high scoring :)

Well done!

Thanks that means so much, first game jam for me!! :)

Ahh in that case, welcome to the game jam community as well! Great start, keep it up :)

The visuals and the audio are wonderfully put together! After a week, the amount of polish your team was able to give the audio was very impressive. The particle effects, lighting, and monochromatic palette all came together to form a neat cohesive experience.

The gameplay is a bit easy to cheese by simply spamming right-click once you unlock the ability, but it's fun shooting monsters all the same.

I applaud the ambitious use of voiceover for a project like this. However, it felt like the dialogue felt a bit pretentious and long-winded to listen to in between every fight. Plus, I just spent the fight shooting a bunch of blob monsters, so taking things that seriously isn't easy in context.

Overall, this is a very well made game! I had fun popping the ichor wraiths.

Thanks for the feedback and shame to hear that was your experience of the VO - we were going for emotionally impactful descent into the subconscious, but I see how there could be a disconnect between the serious subject matter and the cuteness of the art style! Fair point and thanks for the honesty! Thanks for the compliments too!

Awesome entry. The story telling is amazing. My only critique is what some others have already mentioned about the explosion being OP. Overall, incredible entry. Well done!

Developer

Thanks :D We love good stories

This was a stellar game, I forgot I was playing a game jam game for a while. Really looking forward to seeing if this project grows from this!

Thank you so much that means the world! Hopefully we have time to polish after, we're not a pre-made team!

Loved the art, loved the audio, the controls felt really good. All around awesome game, only thing I have to say is the voice acting was really quiet, and sometimes hard to hear over the music. Other than that solid submission!

Developer

Oh wow! We actually thought it was quite booming / loud! Do you mean for the Memory Fragments rather than the Prologue / Epilogue? I think the VO and music are mixed together, but you could try messing around with the settings pop-up too where you can adjust music, SFX, master etc :D Thanks for the feedback, too kind of you!

Very cool art\music design! Ambient and relaxing therapy.

Absolutely stunning!  Everything feels extremely polished and well made! From the graphics, story, movements, and audio! But something I'm not sure was intended was the ability to spam shoot and the explosion ability, it was funny at first but seems a bit unfair for the enemies lol. The final ability had me questioning why it was there before the ending just answered it for me. Very amazing! :applause:

Developer

Thank you for the kind words! We intended to add a cooldown for the explosion ability but we ran out of time unfortunately.

Great Game! The Low poly art made it even better!

Simplistic art which works really well with the game. Great audio too.

Submitted(+3)

Very very good job all. This game is beautifully made.

Loved the concept behind this and the voice acting was phenomenal! It was definitely fun spamming the left-click to kill the enemies as well. It would make this game more exciting if you added different enemy types or even a boss to unlock more memory fragments. Other than that, this game is amazing.

Amazing art. Loved the voice acting. Music and sounds are nice too. Excellent level designs. But I just spammed left click and right click. There wasn't different enemy types like in my game :/  And enemies that spawning inside me was annoying. Other than that I was jealous when I playing :)

Can you try and rate my game ?

Developer(+2)

Thank you for your kind words and the helpful feedback! Will check out your game too.

Great little game here game was very polished and felt complete. Art style was lovely the black and white with the vibrant glow from the raven and its abilities. The music and narrative aspects were nice too and added to the game. The combat system is nice the player feedback on it is amazing but I feel it lacked a little substance. For example the enemies heading straight towards the player and there being no delay between the abilities. You could spam the explosion and you would be basically invincible because the enemy would die before reaching you since there was no cooldown. But that's my only really criticism the rest was great and complete well done

Love the black & white athmosphere! I did this as well for our game EUR01 :). It is all extremely polished: the music/audio, level design, tension, it all comes together very nicely. Congrats and good luck with your studio!

Developer(+1)

Thank you, StudioRightside for your amazing feedback!

really a very nice game. The only flaw is that enemies can spawn on you but knowing that the difficulty is not high, it's ok.

Submitted(+3)

Very polished and smooth gameplay experience.

I really liked the ambience and art style :)
