How does you game fit the theme?
I thought of conspiracy theories, and how someone would cope with having a parent being obsessed by them. "It is not real" is a plea from you to your dad.

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
Wrote the code, but used the Windows 95 UI for graphics.

omg this was a really great game!! I love this type of game and truly enjoy this one!!

rly love the concept and the story.  and it was really interesting to use google irl to progress the game, very meta lol.  one small feedback, maybe you could try a different font for the sticky notes, I had a pretty hard time reading the '*' symbol lol...

But it was overall a rly great game!! really well done ^^b

Impressed with the attention to details in this game. Good job! As others already pointed out, it could be a bit more transparent what you need to do as a player.

you create an amazing atmosphere for this game and I just love it but it would have to say that it was difficult times and the walkthrough was used.

Developer

Thank you, and thanks for playing. May I ask where you got stuck? I didn’t have anyone to playtest the game, so any feedback would be much appreciated!

Thank you very much!

Really enjoyed everything about this game! The only thing I would like is to have a bit bigger of a resolution, as it was kind of hard to see some things.  I had to use the walkthrough a lot though, so maybe it could have been easier or hints could have been more clear.

I often struggle with making my games far more difficult than they have to be. I think the players would be able to figure out the clues, but I can't expect them to sit down and think for ten minutes every step of the way. Especially not when it's a free game jam game online. I'll make sure to use a hint system and tweak the difficulty for my next game. Thanks for playing!

Wow the depth of the game ... I am really impressed of the emotions it drives, and all the graphics and sounds fit perfectly to the atmosphere. One of the best games i played so far ! Great job !

Developer

Wow, thank you! That means a lot!

really meta! you can contact matpat to review this game too!

Developer

Would be great to get him to review it! Does he stream game jam games, or something?

Really impressed that you pulled this together in one week. This aesthetic is really cool, feels like an old PC. I like how everything is useful, gave some escape room vibes. I had to use the walkthrough as I couldn't make out the stars on the sticky note (and I was a bit dumb hah)

Developer

Haha, thank you! I was a bit worried about that, but I'm glad you made it through.

This was insanely well done! Crazy to think it was done during a game jam. Seriously amazing job I'm blown away by the detail

Developer

Wow, thank you! That means a lot. It really helpt that I used Windows 95 for graphics, since I am terribly slow at drawing anything by myself.

Sorry for not including a hint system! I promise to take the criticism to heart! As I can't update the game, I've made a walkthrough here! https://imgur.com/RDPcVnM

Thank you guys so much for playing!

Cool game! Some hints would be useful thought...

Sadly, my dang google could not figure out that when I searched the blog clue, I meant what the clue was! But that is not your fault.

I still really like this game.

Good job

I really really really liked the aesthetic and the general vibe of the game! It was super cool to navigate a little computer, even if I struggled to figure out how to really do anything. This is a super unique game and I see you've said that you've been trying to think of a hint system and stuff. Super excited to see if you decide to continue with that!

Really creepy too, might I add. Gives me a super uncanny old feeling, kind of like when you mess around with actual windows 95!

Submitted

I think I'm too dumb for this. Should I be able to navigate the windows 95 command prompt in order to make progress?

Submitted

The game looks nice! But can you give me some clue? Idk what to do.

Developer

Hello! I think I know where you might be stuck. Try to to a google search for ”winlose95” to find an old post online.
