I think that this work is an adaptation performed with great skill into something very powerful. If the situation described at the end is true, then it is a great shame and the tone of the communication seems unnecessarily cruel (though I can understand come of the points). I hope that you continue to work in this genre - I'm looking forward to seeing more.
