Did you use any third-party assets or skeleton code?
I used some music and sound effects from the Wowie Resources that the jam suggested.

This was very nice, I think I enjoyed it the most out of the games I've played so far! My only real gripe is the sounds being extremely loud, but the theming and gameplay were quite nice!
I got to wave 20, but the game reset immediately upon death and didn't allow me to screenshot. : (
Well done!
You made it to 20!? Oh damn, good job haha! Yea, when you press r after death it restarts, but in hindsight I should have disabled that button input for a few seconds to avoid players accidentally immediately restarting. I believe you though don’t worry haha!
Im glad you like it :) thanks for playing. The sounds are definitely too loud. Thank you for the feedback.
Yeah, I somehow made it after a lot of very close calls, but then died after a few mistyped words. : ( I found it funny when one of the words to type suddenly became a long binary string! Putting in a bit of a delay before restart might indeed be a good idea, maybe I was trying to reload while I died. :D
I find audio balancing to be really weird to get right, I never know what base line to use for the volume since everyone probably has their settings differently... It wasn't too big an issue, though, I just paused and tabbed out to reduce the browser volume at some point!
I did like the game a lot, well done!
Haha I forgot I put binary in there XD Really glad you had fun with it :) Thank you for all your enthusiasm too.
Waiiitt I love this! You should sell it to schools for typing class lol. For feedback I'd say maybe make the words progressively longer, or make the typing timer get shorter over time. Big fan of this!
Thanks dude :) That was my intention but I ran out of time. After every so many waves you were suppose to choose a "limitation," such as less time to reload, more enemies, easy words get removed, less damage etc. But alas, I didn't have enough time. At wave 20 however it does use a new pack of "extreme" words that are like 10-12 letters long. But not even I can make it to that wave haha!
I'm glad you enjoyed it though. Thanks for playing :)
Very cool game!
Thank you! I’m glad you liked it :)
This is very unique and fun. I can see this game being used in schools with fun teachers.
Haha that would be cool to see. I’m an English teacher in Japan (for now anyway), perhaps I’ll see how my students fair with the reloading mechanic lol
This was cool! I will admit that the enemy death sound effect scared me at first (my volume was too high so my fault)
Haha sorry… I hope you can still hear okay :O I should have added a volume control, but time caught up on me.
Thanks for playing :)
I always really adore the most creative games at game jams, and I believe that you've just made one. The typing mini-game is such a cool and out of the box idea that it makes the game very addicting, maybe even just to see what the next word would be :D.
One thing that I'd say is that it was quite weird to let go of the mouse every reload to type the text. Maybe all the player interaction should be contained within the keyboard?
Thank you for playing and for the kind words :) it was really fun putting this together and experimenting with different letters and their attacks. I had so many more ideas that I wanted to add, like a paint brush boss that draws letters (the paint hurts you) and spawns waves of that letter enemy. But alas, no time :/
Ah yea all on the keyboard makes much more sense. It’s a little clunky changing back and forth. Thanks for the input :)
Cool mechanic and idea, was really fun overall!
Thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed it :)
I love mechanic with reloading is similar to 'textorcist'.It's fun to play , also i think 'x' have intresting pattern . Good job!
Thank you :) I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Fun Game, You've struck a real nice balance for the difficulty, I was on the edge on my seat the entire time. During the last minutes I was like "this is the end... nvm... or is it? ... nvm... or is it? ... ah yeah it is". I was relieved when I finally died. Keeping the player alive by healing on reload was a good choice.
Also I tried saying all the letter in the alphabet as they come out, I was close but not quite there. Try it for yourself it's hard.
On another note ... DUCK YOU C & X! ESPECIALLY X! Worst letter. Duck everyone whose name starts with an X! EVEN YOU XAVIER!!!!
Haha I’m glad you said that, it’s exactly how I felt when playing it. I barely survived for so long it was really intense. I’ll try your challenge too, it’ll probably make me die more though haha.
Yea don’t underestimate those C enemies, they do a TON of damage it they get ya!
Thanks for playing, I’m glad you liked it :)
You can just infinitely milk the reloading minigame for score. I kept a 'B' alive and kited it around the arena while firing into the walls.
Ah… true! Lol well played XD
Yo this is sick! I love the reloading mechanic and overall so creative
Thank you so much. I’m glad you enjoyed it :) it was great fun trying to fit letters into everything!
cool theme!
Thank you :)
What a lovely and unique theme! I loved how everything from the typing, to the bullets, to the enemies, and even the health bar was themed around writing and letters! I feel like I wanted my bullets to be a tad faster, and it would be great if you introduced power-ups or other shooting mechanics in later stages, but overall great work!
Omg thank you so much for the kind words :) yea I wanted to add so much more. I wanted to make a mechanic where you draw around enemies and they join your side. Too many ideas, too little time haha.
Glad you enjoyed it :)
Interesting idea! I've never seen a bullet hell mixed with a typing game before. haha.
And using letters for ammo and enemies was an interesting idea.
Thanks :) I really wanted to make a game around typing as I’d never programmed that before, then I found this jam and it all came together. Glad you liked it!
nice, i like the typing, concept is cool, I feel like it could be cool if there were more typing mechanics somehow.
Yea I definitely should have fleshed it out a little more. I’m glad you liked what I had time to make anyway. Thanks for playing :)
definitely good for a jam! can only do so much
Thank you! Only so much time lol Then again you managed to put together something so awesome and complete! I kinda hoped you had a downloadable build as I wanted to keep it on my PC XD
Love the reload mechanic and using alphabets as the ammo is very creative. rounds get a little repetitive after a bit, hopefully you add new enemies in the future. Also when typing bishop, the p brings up the pause menu. Otherwise, great job.
Yea the P to reload was a last minute decision for WebGL, oh well haha!
I’m glad you liked it :) I wanted to add a ton more for variety but ran out of time. Anyway, thanks for playing :)
Having to type to reaload is a great idea, the shooting sound is also pretty satisfying,
though the hurt sound feels weird since you're a pencil.
Haha you make a good point. I was happy with it since it distinguished your damage from everything else pretty well. Nonetheless, you make a fair point.
Thanks for playing ;)
Very neat idea to adding typing for reload. Some of the bullets are super fast but was a lot of fun.
Thanks dude :) yea it needs some tweaking here and there but time wasn’t on my side lol oh well. Thanks for playing and for giving feedback!
Binding “P” to pause is nice, but then there’s words that end in P so the game immediately pauses after you type. I love the concept. Thank you for sharing this with us. 😁
Oh god… changing it to P was literally a last minute decision for the WebGL build because esc closes full screen haha. Thanks for bringing that up lol
You’re welcome. Thank you for playing :)
A Really Unique take on a simple idea. Limited ammo is a fairly simple idea from the theme but the implementation of it is as far as I can tell unique or very close to. I feel the difficulty could've ramped up more and having to constantly move between the mouse and keybaord felt a bit clunky but overall a really cool idea and a very fun game.
Thanks dude :) yea moving back and forth is a little clunky like you said. I often ran into a bullet scrambling to touch the mouse again haha. Thanks for playing !
