So this is the dopamine game of the jam :p
More stages, please!
Real great game! Loved the art, music and the gameplay. The game feel was epic, and it made me want to play it over and over again although, my fingers started paining after 1 normal and 1 lunatic mode. The art style gave me nostalgia as it reminded me of the old japanese yokai-based shows I used to watch as a child. (We didn't know they were called anime and we called them cartoons. Lol yeah. ) Kinda like Yokai watch and this other thing I forgot.
A quick word to those on the leaderboard, get a life.
Really enjoyed this! My score was terrible when I saw the leaderboard though XD
It could be more clear that you can't actually die and getting hit just costs you time, this isn't explained anywhere so I played too defensively on my first try (and ran out of time).
I never saw any gold. My highest hit combo was only 12 I think. Should I have seen any?
The dash control seems really unreliable. Sometimes it works right away, sometimes it only works if I hold it down for a second.
Gold drops for a few seconds immediately after a dash kill, and this time is extended slightly by quickly killing more enemies afterwards.
Assuming you’re on a high refresh rate monitor, the game tends to drop dash inputs at higher FPS so you would have to cap it to 60. Though if you were playing on the WebGL build, that tends to just have bad performance and drops inputs there too.
I didn't even get any dash kills or realise I could use dash to attack - the dash was so unreliable I barely used it.
Top tier style. It's hard for my hands control WASD and arrow keys but I eventually got it!
Only thing is I would maybe like to see the payer shots get a little bit more transparency effect, there was a lot going on the screen!
Great effort to put as much juice as possible ! However I think it's sometimes done to the detriment of legibility : I often got hurt bevause enemy bullets were hidden behind all kinds of visual effects. I think it could have been good to put more emphasis on elements that are important for the gameplay, like a way to show when bullets are about to be fired.
It's a really cool game overall, even though the legibility was lacking, I still found the game quite enjoyable !
So much juice!!!!!!!
Very good, very polished. I loved. The soundtrack is very exciting and the controls are very responsive.
I appreciate the compliment on the soundtrack!
I couldn’t seem to make the dash work but it was really fun and really good movement. Very nice work!
Unfortunately it seems like the dash bug comes from either high FPS (from high refresh rate monitors) or low FPS (from the WebGL build). I recommend capping the game to 60 FPS (and playing the desktop build) to avoid that.
my eyes-
Really good game for being made in just 10 days. great visual and lots of action.
Visuals are incredible and the controls are great. There may be a balancing problem though, the first two plays I didn't realize I could shoot and only used the dash for those two, I honestly did better on those than when I did shoot.
While it’s true that the dash is strong and can be spammed for survival purposes, it’s actually very bad for scoring purposes due to the fact that it resets your dash kill streak.
Think of your dash as a combo starter, and your shot as what briefly extends the combo afterwards. Repeating that cycle after the kill streak expires is what rakes in bigger gains.

I love the touhou aesthetic and the raw destructive power you bring in this iteration of Gensokyo. Yukari never stood a chance.
Super polished look and incredible art-style! The character animations look so alive and vibrant! The hectic gameplay and killer dash attack are quite fun, unfortunately the seems kind of finicky to pull off. But overall, great work!

Feels really good to tear through big clusters of enemies but large amounts of bullets quickly get pretty unreadable and I spent most big spawn waves looping constantly around the screen edges to keep reimu visible. Clearing some screen space out with the dash is exciting and makes up for it but I had some issues getting the dash to consistently activate on the web version. I'll give the download a try as well. Lunatic mode goes crazy and the boss patterns are the most fun to dodge.
is there something i'm missing about the dash mechanic? it seems to only ever activate on the 10th or so time I mash the button after trying to do it once and failing and I cannot figure out if there is some condition to using it I don't know about. I want to get a better lunatic mode score but without the dash i can't get all those money points
Unfortunately from what I can tell, it seems anytime the game performs badly (visible stuttering despite high FPS, or just low FPS - the former from a second-hand account from a player with a high refresh rate monitor and the latter I’ve experienced on the WebGL build) it becomes liable to swallowing dash inputs.
I really wanted to add an input buffer for dashes to counter this, but for now it seems the only way to avoid this is to play the desktop build with a 60hz display (and also just not letting too many enemies fill the screen).
Oh! i have a 144hz monitor so that might be the culprit. i'll cap my refresh rate
I did some normal runs until I cleared it once. I'll probably try to clear lunatic later.
The game looks and sounds great and is plain frantic fun, I love it, thanks for sharing.
