I really like the concept of switching up which fish you can eat!

I do wish that the fish shapes were a bit more different - some longer, some with more fins, etc. Yes, they're different sizes, but the edible indicator doesn't show size - so the only thing you can judge by are the colors.

I also think it could be fun if the game changed in difficulty as you went along - for instance, if there were only two possible fish to eat at the start of the game. Like, in my first run, a fishing boat drove by in the first few seconds, and I had no clue what was going on. Adding in a difficulty curve could go a long way to making the game feel more polished!

Was a fun game and the fact you put a leaderboard in made me want to play it more and get a better score!

Fun game! The visuals, music, and gameplay were all solid. The inclusion of a leaderboard was really nice as well :)

The music matches the action well. The game play also is fun and effective. It's really tricky sometimes to keep with who is edible and not crashing into inedibles or fishing hooks. Really well done!

Nice little game, I loved the theme interpretation and ho messy the sea became at some point!

Fun little arcade game! An in-game intro screen that explains all the ways you can die would be helpful. At first I though I could eat all the fish. Also, when the indicator would change to the big orange fish or the big red fish, it was a little hard to tell which one it was.

Hallo,

Thank you for sharing your game. I’ve already saved its RATING;

1. verified: GAME due to sample screenshots, with keyphrase: FISH;

2. observed: background music and sound effects to exist, albeit may NOT be noticeable;

3. verified: GAMEPLAY to use COMMANDS for directional movement, without need for additional combination of sequence of COMMANDS;

4. notes: LEADERBOARD to exist, albeit the set of FISH that appears for a given GAME, may NOT cause SCORE to reach TOP; observed: self to reach ONLY 20pts;

5. observed: self to prefer eating FISH that are noticeably bigger than self; adds: eating and eaten animation sequences to exist;

6. notes: rope from boat’s HOOK causes DEATH STATE;

7. adds: may continue to PLAY if achieving TOP via LEADERBOARD is NOT noticeably due to variation in the set of FISH that appears in MAIN GAME, where:  @select GAMES, select PLAYERS can achieve more points;

Thank you. Health!

Wow really cool game!

The graphics are really coold, the music is arcade-like and doesn't distract from the game. I also really liked the boat sound!

I liked the choice of colors as well as the background scenery.

The leaderboard is a nice touch, it made me competitive and I kept playng until I got 50 fishes (BruttaCosa) and placed first!

Really nice game! Awesome job!

Congrats on finishing your jam game!

A visual feast! I loved all the fish and the little environmental hazards. The music was the right amount of arcade-y without being distracting or overwhelming. At the start, I was a little apprehensive that the indicator for the correct fish was too far off screen, but you did a really good thing to make those fish flash when they were about to change. That's a huge win for the design.

On the flip side, I felt there were too many times where the fish type was a big one and there just weren't any on screen. Fish move so slowly that I mostly found myself sitting still and waiting which didn't feel great. Could you retheme the player as a shark or something and make them constantly move? That might add an extra element to keep the player engaged when they're dodging instead of scoring.

I think I encountered a "bug" in which the target fish type changed to the same fish again. Not the end of the world, but something to look out for when changing between random results!

Overall, neat little game. I enjoyed my time with it! Keep making games!

Fun game that feels like it'd fit right in at an arcade; really polished and enjoyable to play!

Nice game. Cutesy art style, appropritate music and SFX. Lots of variety in gameplay (eating fish, dodging fish, dodging the hook).

Minor improvement would be fixing the timer, it bugs a bit for certain times (mainly 1:00 to 1:10 minutes left).

Well done!
