Great game!
This was very entertaining to play, quite challenging I could say to get an higher score, the only issue is that I felt the character was probably too slow or had not enough stamina regeneration to keep up, also a couple of sprites were blurred but it could be easily fixed :)
very fun, top mechanics,
Game lags when you first start the game , and the movement speed is a bit low you should increase that a bit and the run energy should replenish fast , hope fully this feedback will help you
what device are you running on? Seems like some folks are having issues, mainly on lower-end/older android phones.
You can buy energy drinks with in game currency if you want to run before the bar has refilled.
thanks for that information
Great and matured idea...
However, the town is too big yet you walk a bit slow.
I suggest you decrease the time needed to replenish the energy to run or you can replace it with a pickup item.
Enemies sometime stuck at the corner of the building.
You can remove the smoothing of sprites by unchecking the smoothing option in the Resources section.
All the best!
thanks. There is an item you can get to supplement the time it takes your stamina to regen at the cost of in game $ (lowering the final score)
Appreciate the feedback, thank you
Thanks for the tip. Appreciate it <3
of course. Thank you for taking the time to try it out
Looks beautiful.
If I were making this game I'd definitely work on making movement more enjoyable; it was just too slow!
Definitely a good foundation for a fun game though. :)
Check out my game and see if you like the movement speed there!
Yeah, I understand how that can be frustrating, but it was an intentional choice to maintain difficulty in the game while not making the movement feel unrealistic (especially when running & energy drinks). I mentioned in another comment that I had plans for some other movement types that would have increased the speed, but I didn't have time to do those and implement the additional enemies that would've been needed to balance.
Cheers. I checked your game out and rated it. Nice job!
Impressive game considering the time constraint, awesome work! I wish the stamina bar replenished a bit quicker because the map is huge, and I also had text glitches, but this is amazing. Great work!
Were you on Android also?
The slow stamina recovery was due to the limited finishing on the enemies. With only having one set of enemies running you down, I didn't want you to be able to get away no matter what, so it was done to add strategy to how you use energy. If I hadn't run out of time, I had a car planned (hence the gas station) & some additional enemy ideas that would allow for a speedier game.
I'm on MacOS, with Brave browser. Thanks for the explanation, makes sense!
I am posting this again after playing this on pc browser really you made so much affort for this game it,z really breath taking to think you just made this game in just 9 days!! And what about of your health !! Are you fine !
It was a stroke of (uncomfortable) luck that I had time to get what was there finished. There was an incident that put my college on lockdown & canceled some of my classes all week, which gave me a few extra hours each day.
I appreciate your comment. Glad you enjoyed it
I know how much effort you take to make this type to game hats off sir !!
I haven't played the whole game, i will later but this so far looks and feels like a good game and i am enjoying it so far. One problem is that it lags alot on android, it looks like its on 5 fps. Are you planning to make a windows build soon?
I can certainly do that once the jam ends. I can not imagine it would run well on anything but newer, higher-end android phones/tablets. My personal testing has all been done with an iPhone 12 Pro, so something with similar specs should run it.
alright
What a villain women lmao (I love the game rockstar must find a employe like you)
Nice game, although the game map is a bit too big in my opinion and the stamina regen is too slow, and I found a bug that if I keep pressing space even after the stamina has ran out I'll keep running. Overall good game, great job.
How strange. I'm not experiencing that issue, but I will look into it once the jam is over.
I had a few other things planned that would add life to more areas of the map and make it feel less big/spacey, but I ran out of time before I could complete them—the hard part of doing it on your own in such a short time.
Thank you!
The art work was great love the design of the buildings, Nice game.
Unusual theme and it works great :)
You put a lot of work on this game.Great work!
Cool twist on the theme! The music is really nice and I love how much detail you put into the world and story.
Nice idea, a few of the sprites had smoothing on I think which is why they were a bit blurry, I felt the movement was a bit slow for my liking, and the text wasn't rendering in the correct spaces, looked a bit squished but good work so far, looks like it's gonna be really interesting, be interesting to know how you've done the map, did you build it all in one piece, or build it in pieces using external layouts?
Thanks for the feedback. Yeah unfortunately when I made some edits in Piskel the sprites got smoothed and I didn't notice in time to fix them.
I haven't had any issues with the text. If you remember, when did it happen?
Most of the map was put together with tiled sprites. Asphalt, curbs, sidewalk, grass. The buildings and objects are all individual sprites.
This is how it is showing for me in the browser preview, I am not sure but it may be to do with the screen resolution being different on my device or something similar that is probably being used to calculate the text size or position
Whoa. Okay. I have only tested on iPad, Mac, and iPhone. I had a couple of others test on Android phones and PC, but not sure what devices specifically. I'll have to fix that after the jam ends. Thanks for sharing the screenshot of it
Wow you are ready for every platfor? Nice work
Pretty Cool
Nice work! Glad that some of things we talked about before were able to be finished/fixed!
Thanks. I did as many/as much of the suggestions as I could with the time.
Nice game 👍🏻
