Only one sprite was used to make this tough and tricky Splatformer. Can you get to the end of the level?

I've nothing more to add than Kitty Factory. It's the purest and best take on 1 sprite I've played this jam. Good work. You get a follow because I wanna know what happens next with this game.

Developer

Thank you so much!

Nice to hear!

Cool concept. Could be great if the platformer controls was a bit more polished. It's a bit hard to know when the character can jump.

The ghosts effects are an interesting feedback.

With some checkpoints, it could be a really solid game.

Good job! :)

Developer

That's great to hear!

We are fixing the controls for sure! A new better version will be released soon ;)

And we'll certainly consider what you said about checkpoints! Thank you!! :D

A very original game! I love it! There is a few things which I think would make it better, like make the controls less stiff, they didn't flow as smoothly as I thought they would.
I love the idea about only being able to see the map fully once and then it disappearing, great job at creating this game in 48 hours! I feel if you continue to develop this, you can make something huge!

Hi Amy!

Thank you so much!

Yes, we are fixing the controls issue and we are just waiting to post the new version after the rating period is over.  Thanks for the feedback!

And we are so happy that you like the game! We’ll continue to develop the game for sure :D

It's a great game very original and the fact the light from those triangles are remaining while someone (a previous you) is still on it is a great and original concept! I love it!

Developer

Thank you! I'm happy with that!)

Good game, I liked it, but sometimes when I wanted to jump, my triangle didn't react.

Can you please also rate my game? https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2019/rate/463074

Developer

Thank you.
Yes, we have this problem:(

So when this clicked for me I thought it was a fantastic idea. So you get one pulse each life to see your surroundings. But you can follow your previous lives to get through the level without using the pulse until later, right? Is that the concept? I think this is an excellent idea.

Unfortunately, the jump button just didn't seem to want to work whenever I needed it to, so I couldn't get very far. But I think this is a great idea, and would defo play a fixed version. Nice work!

Developer

Thank you so much for your feedback!
I'm so sad that you had such problems with controllers.

Ah don't worry about it, it's a game jam - it's the ideas that count. If you get an updated version out, I'll be sure to play it!

This is a good game but I found the space bar/jumping a little unresponsive at times.  Will love to play again when its smoother.  Really enjoyed this one, love me a good platformer.

Developer

Thank you.!
Yes, we will try to fix problems with controllers

Super interesting concept! One problem I found was sometimes jump inputs didn't register, but good job!

Developer

I am sorry for that. But we will fix then inputs, for sure!

And thank you a lot for playing and for the feedback! It's really nice to hear that people liked our game!

I really liked the Idea! I found myself staying in one place in order to make my life easier the next life!

I wished that the controls were more responsive, but Unity Phisycs is what it is.

This is so nice to hear! Thank you!

And still, we are going to figure out what to do to fix the controls. We do not want you guys getting frustrated about it.  ;)

Very original idea and pretty well executed too! Fits perfectly to the theme too. But what was a bit frustrating was that the jump button (at least for me) wasn't responsive enough meaning that sometimes I jumped, but my character jumped too late leading to my fatal death. It was also very easy to get lost after I had used my impusle and after having gone pretty far I didn't really want to kill myself... Other than that, this game is great, the effects are perefct and the music fits perfectly to th theme! Great job with this game!

Developer

I am sorry to hear about that. But certainly we will fix this issue and figure out a way to not let the player get lost easily after using the Pulse once in later versions.

Great feedback for us! Thanks so much!

I really like this game, it reminds me of the game Cursor 10.  One problem is when I try to jump about 1 out of 5 times it eats my jump input and I fall into spikes. Also make the camera always follow the player and not try to fit all the past lives on the screen because it gets difficult to tell where you are. I overall like the game a lot though!

Developer

Yes, we will definitely fix the jump issue and enhance the camera movement for later versions of the game.

Thank you a lot for playing and for giving us feedback! And we are happy to know that you liked our game!

Interesting idea. Music choice was perfectly suited for the game. Really helped get into the flow of platforming.

Developer

Thank you!! We are glad that you like it!

And about the music, I totally agree with you! It's a really good music to encourage you while playing.
