The art style is so good! The game play is simple but fun to try to beat your own highscore

Developer

I am glad you have fun! Did you beat my score?

Submitted(+2)

I found the game to very visually stunning! The art direction worked really well for this game, even though I spent 90% of my time spamming the 'O' key and Spacebar trying to brute force combinations lol

Developer

I am glad you like the art direction, it was really hard to draw the UI with my mouse! The artist also worked really hard!

Submitted(+2)

Really great art! Like others have said its hard to remember what colors next for each gem.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback!

Very nice, fast paced game! Concept is simple and executed to great effect! I wish that the controls could be changed, as qw-op is kinda weird to control. Otherwise, amazing!

Developer

Thank you for trying the game out and thank you for the feedback! What buttons do you think would be better than qw-op, we would love to test it out!

Submitted(+2)

Nice concept - I found a bit hard to remember the order of the colours though

Developer

Thank you for your feedback. I agree too, we have many comments about this issue. Thank you for giving the game a try!

i really love the music for this game

Developer

I am glad you liked it. There are two artists working on the music for this game. Props to them!

Benie B. - the gameplay music, and the SFX (he is the "oh no" guy)

Bas - the funky music in the menus

Nice idea! I do like the graphics as well as how well polished the game is. However, it might be nice to actually rotate the colors in a wheel or something, because it's very hard to remember the order. Bonus time also feels a little too short. And "oh no" SFX gets annoying after a while.

Despite all my complaints, I think this is a great game! The originality is there, the graphics are amazing the concept is cool, and it's well polished! I think this is one of the better submissions for this jam!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback kub and thank you for taking your time to try and play our game. I agree too, I think the UI could be improved to be even more intuitive, even I spam the keys just to get to the right colors.

Also if you don't want to hear the "oh no" SFX, stop failing the combo!  Hahahaha

Really beautiful graphics!

Developer

Props to the artist!

Sorry for the repeated messages below, browser decided to derp on me. Deleted the repeated ones.

The perspective of "joining" colors together to mix into another color is super interesting... What i really like about this game is it's style: Mostly everything has a doodle effect to it, like pencil on a paper. And then gouache painted over it using the RGB colors.

Oh no, lost my streak again! xD

Developer

Thank you for your comment Majima, the "doodle effect" is called boil animation and this is the first time I've tried making it, I am glad you liked it.

The game is fun and the idea is solid!

Though I'm a little bit irked by the "Join colours together". It feels like stretching the idea too far. Because colours are mixed, combined but, joined together? That' really thin of a stretch. As a game by itself the concept stands strong, as for the theme, sadly no :<

Developer

Thank you for the comment! To be honest, I also felt like we are stretching it a bit too, but the team was really passionate about this concept so we just roll with it.

Really nice menu! Got me 5 seconds to understand, but got to the fun quickly!

Developer(+1)

It only took you 5 seconds? Wow!

Submitted

I am one of the few that read the "How to play" section ;)

Submitted(+1)

Simple to understand even without the How To Play, but really complete, interesting and fun to play ! Well done !

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your comment, I am glad to hear that the game is intuitive to understand!

Submitted(+1)

That was quite fun! I like your choice of QWOP controls!

Perhaps having a Rotating Color Wheel for each spell gem (I guess like the Sonic Heroes character wheel?) Might make it more intuitive to swap colors.

The art style is really appealing! Good luck in the jam!

Developer(+1)

I searched up what the Sonic Heroes character wheel looks like, I think that having a rotating color wheel would have help players understand how the color cycles even if it is just a little bit more. Thank you for your feedback!

A very nice done game gongratz for the team

Developer

Thank you kub

Really like fast paste playstyle with the tight combo mechanic and the artstyle is very fancy!

Ps. we managed to get a highscore of 148 :D

Developer

Yo, you beat my highscore!

Submitted(+1)

Can confirm, can be played both on full screen and in window mode :D

Very nice music. sound and design. Although it was a bit hard at first to cycle around colors correctly, maybe the game could start with fewer colors available to get familiar with the controls? :)

Developer

Thank you for the suggestion, starting with just the Red, Green, and Blue colors would help pace the game much better. Our team never even considered it.

Developer

P.S. Please play the game in Fullscreen to avoid the UI from exploding. Thank you for understanding.

Developer

Nevermind, we fixed the bug but playing in Fullscreen will now explode the UI, please do not play in Fullscreen anymore. Thank you for understanding.

Developer

Nevermind, Nevermind, the game can be played in both Fullscreen and "Window" now.
