✔️ Nice graphics; well themed!

✔️ I liked the messages when you died; very funny.

➖ Maybe if I could aim the ball that would be nice.

For the first jam, this is really good. I liked the parallax effect and soon I realized that keep the ball towards the corner before throwing it, will land correctly. :D If the ball could swing back up, I would have been able to play more :) I have seen quite a few games where the ball is attached to the player, which reminds me of sharing it with some who wanted to see a working physics and how was it achieved. Kudos on participating in your first jam.

Thanks a lot, I must say that somewhat finishing this game is a miracle :D I implented the throwing mechanic and the levels 3 hours before the deadline. (So the level design wasn't that great) I scraped a lot of ideas and prototypes, but I learned a lot. Thanks for playing and for your feedback.

It started out feeling a bit stiff from a control perspective, but then I realised only the player character needs to be grounded to throw the weight, so if you spam the F button then you can give it some serious momentum and fling yourself across the stage. It allows for some pretty silly stuff and completely changed the feel of the game from a borderline rage game to a momentum platformer.

I liked it

I am happy that a bug made the game feel more fun ^^ but I must say this is my first jam, so there are a lot of bugs :D

Cool game, i like the throwing mechanic. The movement feels a bit weird at first but I got used to it quickly, I would like to see some more interaction with the objects and the chain or maybe a more precise way to aim.

Other than that, pretty cool, and love the art style.

Developer

This is my first jam, so I am bit unexperienced but thanks a lot for your time and feedback. I am glad you enjoyed it.

I like the idea of throwing the boulder in this one! I think it does throw me off a tiny bit though as it sometimes feels it should feel "heavier" and have more drag in the air as you throw it. I liked the bouncing goo pads, and overall I liked the idea of having to rely on throwing the object you are attached to as your method of locomotion!

Nice work :D

Thanks for your time & feedback! ^^ I am glad you liked it

I like the graphic style, especially the paralax background. The controls felt a bit stiff, I understand that for a game jam thats difficult to make well.

It was still fun handling the very heavy (it felt like) stone/ steel ball.

Minimal music was very fitting.

I wished I could have looked more forward, there was a lot of random jumping.

Developer

This is my first jam, so the game didn't turn out the exact way I wanted to but I still have a long way to go :) Thanks a lot for the feedback!

Very hostile game, but in a great way I think! Physics are wonky but still fun. The ball is both a hinderance, but also a safety net in case the slime falls off. Enjoyed it more than I expected to!

Developer

Thank You, I appreciate your time and feedback :)

I got insulted for dying. A lot. ^^

Not the first prisoner with ball and chain that must be thrown game I've seen in this jam, but it is decently executed.

Also, please update your Project Settings, as it still claims you have a web build.

Developer(+1)

I had a webgl version, but for some reason the file got corrupted ^^ and I can't fix it because the voting phase doesen't allow you to edit your files after the submission date. Thank You for playing, I appreciate your feedback :)

Really neat idea, stuff was a little floaty but it wasn't that bad to get used to.

Developer

Thank You! It's my first jam so yes, the physics are kind of weird xD

Submitted(+1)

a really nice game idea! The physics felt a little odd first, but once you throw the ball a couple of times it was much better!

great work!

Developer

Thanks, I must say this my first jam so I am a little unexperience. But I am happy you enjoyed it!

really impressive for your first jam!

For future reference, when doing a WebGL build in Unity, disabling Compression under Player Settings in your preferences gets it to work. Itch really doesn't like something about Brotli compression, I guess.

I had a similar "ball and chain" platformer type idea, so its interesting seeing someone else's take on something I didn't end up doing! I feel like if you wanted to go down the route of a skill based platformer, a way to aim where you're throwing the weight would really benefit this game. Theres also a lot of potential in this being a puzzle game instead of something where precision is needed. Entertaining game though!

Developer

Thanks a lot for the feedback provided! Yes this game is far from finished, and I am planning for further updates, thx btw for the tip with the compression. Sadly I can't fix this since we can't update the game during the voting phase.

Likewise, web version wasn't loading for me in Firefox or MS Edge.  If I get time I will come back and play the download version.  Sorry.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Since we can't update our games during the vote phase I was not able to resolve the issue.

Yeah np.  I did get to the download version today.  Fun/funny :D  I do love the sound effects and the physics.  The chain looking like (and behaving a bit like) it is or at least has a spring around it is fun.  It's very difficult to get around (I didn't get far 'cause I'm an indifferent platformer player at the best of times) but definitely a fun implementation ^_^
Thanks for the experience! ^_^  Cheers.

The html build wasn't loading for me so I wasn't able to play on Chrome or Safari.  I'm able to play other html games though so this might be an issue you want to look into.  Anyway, the visuals in the screenshots look really nice.

The issue might be related to the page trying to make the game full screen on play. I don't know for certain if that is the issue, but I noticed several other games that tried to go full  screen had the same issue.  There is a setting on the game's edit page to disable that.

Developer(+1)

Thank You! but since we cant update our games during the voting phase, I cant resolve the issue.
