How does your game fit the theme?
Mostly from narrative standpoint. Witch's cat accidentally turns her master into a mouse, and so a cat and mouse game begins with roles reversed. Also the flowers change their function when a cat casts a spell on them.

Haha! I should've made the leaderboard system so that it saves only the highest score for each name! He is a friend of mine who is very determined to be the #1 Hiirun player in the world.

Thanks! I'm really proud of our take on the theme. :) At start we just locked that we wanted to make something that has a cat and a mouse, but had trouble on figuring out how we wanted to reverse their roles. The mouse being the cats master made everything make sense!

I really like the art style, but the game got a bit laggy after 500 points. And more obstacles would be nice to.

Thanks for playing! Could you check for me if you have hardware acceleration on or off? Im curious if this is more specific problem or that. It seems like the game lags hard if it's off.

The graphics and music is really great! The intro story super cute and entertaining. Well made intros like that seems to quite rare, especially for game jams. It's quite a fun little game, but could use a little more depth with the gameplay :)

Interesting premise and the art is suuuuper cute. It took a bit to figure out about the bouncing flowers haha. Its challenging and makes you want to get into the top 10!

Check if you can enable hardware acceleration on your browser. Godot games seems to run badly without it!

Who's Walking Who?

One of the games ever made!
So me and the devs we go all the way back. Ever since we were small kids in Czechoslovakia we have talked about a game that has cats in it! Isn't that something
Now we had this idea of a game (very similiar to Hiirun) called Běh Krys
That had a rat running and trying to catch a witch because she stole all of the rats smetana (now heres a really funny story about our childhood and smetana but i'll tell it another time)
We drew some sketches (That you can now see in the directors cut version of the game) with these crayons that my mom bought from east berlin (the red one was made with crushed beetles) about a rat chasing a witch with a zinc bucket full of smetana and thought to ourself first of all that all of this Smetana would be nice (It was really scarce back then) but now looking at it the more important quesiton is how could we do this. You hear me! we had no nintendo no nothing. All we had was a Dendy that Veijaris uncle bought while in the soviet union working as a agricultural engineer in recently captured Svetogorsk.
We were small boys and knew that Dendy could not render these graphics we had invisioned.
BUT NOW IN 2023
He has made it.

I have played this game ever since it came out
I own all the merch
I support the devs on pateron
I have the direcotrs cut let's play on VHS
I named my children after the main protagonist and the main antagonist (You can see who i like more LOL)
And I named my goats after the side characters
I LOVE THIS GAME
now
I know that Veijari is living big life in Berlin right now
Making games and all that
I hope he sees this message and remembers his old buddy farming rhubarb in the countryside of Albania
All i have to say to my little bro is
Keep doing what you love little bro
This is your calling!
Now I don't do this often but...
I will nominate Veijari and Hiirun for Game Of The Year all years for the rest of my life
If you come visit me. I'll brew some of your favourite herbal tea and make a zemlbába just like mama used to make it!
