When it first started I had no idea what was going on..

But as soon as the combat started... damn!

I suddenly had an urge to defend myself from this fast little enemy (with a freaking aimbot!).

Really cool concept.

A few ideas to polish it:

A direction indicator for the closest enemy

A clear indication of whether I can or can't place or afford a new item

A different way to show my inventory and the costs

A tutorial would help with some of those elements but if you want the game to be intuitive I think all 3 would help.

Charming concept as well.

Developer

Thanks for playing my game and the constructive feedback!

The indicator is definitely at the at the top of my list of things to update in the future.

The Ui shows how many resources you have and how expensive each building block is. But I guess it's not obvious enough, so that's something I need to change. The UI is too big, so there's also that haha.

A tutorial would have been great, but sadly, I didn't have time. But I definitely plan on adding one.

Again, thanks for the suggestions!

Amazingly fun game! The graphics and gameplay loop are so fun. Amazing for a 96 hr project. The audio and building systems were very polished, my only complaint was this bug where i would occasionally get stuck after dying, but relaunching fixed that issue rly fast so no worries. Great game!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I am actually not aware of that bug. So that's really helpful.

You just couldn't move after dying?

when respawn I cant move my tank i hope you can fix this

Developer

Okay that's good to know. Will fix it in a future build! Thanks for playing my game!

Very cool game! The Lego design and sound effects were on point! It would be nice if you added some sort of guide to where the enemies are but other than that good job!

Developer(+1)

Yep! That's definitely something I plan on adding in the future. Thanks for the feedback and playing my game :)

I love the lego aesthetics, even in the sound department, it really is unusual to see a jam game like that.

I love the simple gameplay and upgrade system, I could really see that as an simple online multiplayer game.

Great entry!

Developer

Wow! Thanks for the positive feedback. I am glad you liked it. I would love to expand the scope of the game, but since this is a game jam, the code is kind of a mess, and I am scared to look at it again haha.

The game is really cool and fun to play. It has nice aesthetics and solid sound effects. The music loop can become a bit irritating over time.

It would be helpful to have some indication of where enemies are or when they’re coming. At the beginning, I wasn’t sure if an enemy was going to appear or not. I initially thought the game was incomplete and only had the construction part.

Small thing but having the mouse used for both construction and shooting feels a bit awkward, as you have to shoot to build. Maybe separating these into different scenes, such as a fight scene and a construction scene could improve the experience (if you plan to continue working on it).

Splitting resources might not have been the best choice. If they were kept together, the player would have to make decisions between defense, speed, and offense. Which would add a strategic element to the game.

The fights are definitely fun but end a bit too quickly, and collisions can be quite harsh. Perhaps the blocks need more durability. Also big enemies are really tough ;).

I’m sure the game has the potential to be a lot of fun with a few adjustments.

Good job!

Developer(+1)

Holy, that's a lot of awesome ideas.

First, the indication would have been awesome. I know the enemies appear a bit suddenly, and if they are stronger than you, you are pretty much done.

For the point you make with the mouse, that was something I realized while developing, but I just didn't have time. I am probably going to change it, so if you hover over the UI or want to place a block, I am going to deactivate shooting for that time.

Not seperating the resources would have been better, true. I don't know why I did that, now that I think about it. It would have also saved me some UI space, haha.

Thanks for the great feedback and playing my game; I really appreciate it.

Nailed the style and you got a good hook to make people try the game. Like the others have said before me the balancing is very off. Besides that, because each currency buys only one thing there's less room for strategizing and making interesting decisions. An webgl build would have been nice also.

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I agree. The balance definitely fell short. I tried my best in the last 30 minutes to make it somewhat fair, haha. Also, I would have loved to add more building blocks; I actually already did the coding for them; I just didn't have enough time on the art side. But well, I guess that's just the typical game jam experience, haha. Thank you for your comment and feedback...  and obviously aslo for playing the game, my friend!

This is so cool! I love the Lego theme, and it sounds just as good as it looks :D It definitely needs some more balancing in regards to the enemies, there's not enough enemies and the ones that are there are too overpowered, sprinkling a few small enemies around would help a lot with starting out.

Developer

100%. Tweaking the value of how big an enemy should be definitely got under my skin, haha. The chance of a big enemy is currently 10%, with an additional 5% for extra-big enemies. The problem is that if you are big and the chance is low, it can get boring really quick because you are just too overpowered, and if you are small and the value is high, you just get destroyed. I might need to add a value that checks the player size and calculates the chances accordingly in the future. Thanks for the feedback. I really appreciate you giving the game a try and writing a comment!

Interesting idea. Building a vehicle modularly out of legos is pretty cool. Needs more polish. Tank controls make it hard to maneuver effectively, and it's not fun to spend lots of time looking for enemies in a barren environment, only to be surprised by an overpowered vehicle that destroys you in no time time at all. It'd be great if there was more strategy around brick placement, to further build on this concept.

Developer

Yeah. The environment is a point that's lacking currently. I would love to add some more interesting-looking tiles. It's definitely something I might come back to in the future. For the strategic aspect, I actually planned on adding a shield block and stuff. That would have probably made the building more interesting. Maybe in a future update. Thanks for the feedback!
