Very impressive.

Nice aesthetic, game felt very fun to play. SFX were nice too, the fact that you had voice lines in a 2D arcade space game kinda reminded me of the game Warblade (I remember that game fondly from when I was a lot younger).

Very intense gameplay and intresting mechanic, but I died almost 10 times in a row because of meteor arriving from sidescreen. I think player should have a couple of HP instead of restarting game only because of one hit.

P.S.: Pretty familiar ships :D

The one hit death is intentional on keeping the player really careful.
The side diving meteors are a nuisance that are to be addressed later on after the jam.

The ships are by Kenney and found them in GDevelop marketplace.

Pretty fun! I really like how the difficulty scales up, but I don't think the way the theme was put in very well, it was too fast paced that the number you got really didn't matter, just that you got extra time.

Yea I had loads of more dice mechanics planned but I ran out of time to properly implement them, but I'll continue developing this game further to a full fledged long game release.

The dice relevance is a bit lacking, true, it's function is to show the amount of life time given after each kill.
There was supposed to be more function to it but I ran out of time to implement them properly.

Honestly, I think my favorite design decision is the auto-fire lol. These top down shooters often ask you click to shoot or something, but in cases for jam games or more arcade-y styles, auto-fire feels better. 

The core concept of extending your lifespan by a die roll is a good starting point, but it feels like it would just be a gimmick in a "full game" if that makes sense. Moment to moment gameplay it sounds like it'd be exciting, but in reality, it's really hard to keep track of and recognize how much time you're gaining each time. Maybe putting little +1 or +6 on screen when you kill something might help it feel more impactful? Ultimately, there isn't a way for the player to manipulate, react to, or otherwise care about the die rolls because over time it all averages out and they don't have any other choice. 

Ooh, maybe the full version (if you go that way?) could have different die sizes (d4, d6, d8, etc) so players could prioritize killing tougher enemies for more time or something.

Oh, and your hitboxes felt a bit off. Shooter games like this usually benefit from having super small player hitboxes so "close calls" feel better. I think a comet killed me a few times because it got too close but didn't hit.

The dice amount was envisioned to be more apparent and profound as well as having multiple different effects, but alas I ran out of time to implement but only the basic effect.
The different die types are among the variety that was planned.

The hitbox on the player is intentionally precise as I myself don't like that much about the small hitbox type since I never can keep the track of when I'm hit or not.

Also there are some discrepancies on the hitbox accuracies since the tiny detail honing was left to last hours and ran out of time to fine tune them.

The game will be developed to a larger expanded full game later on with multiple stages and enemies to run through with multiple ships to fly with them having different fire patterns and weaponry upgrades.


Just wait and follow up after the jam to get more of this game <3

This game is very polished and highly enjoyable. I just find it very unclear what the dice roll does

The dice rolls everytime you manage to destroy a target, rolling the dice gives you slight amount of life time added to the time you have left to live.
