I mean, this is just the most coolest concept possible! Not sure how it fits the theme though. But gameplay is super fun

Nice take on an old classic!

I thought the theme could've been a bit more implemented. Also there's a few bugs involved where you can just push the ball through the other player by slowly moving closer to them, especially since the CPU player just follows where the ball is or just move on top of the ball as it spawns at the beginning of the round. Other than that, fun twist on a classic game of Pong. Nicely done!

Very neat little game. I expect this is more fun to play when you have someone to actually play with, so I feel like I didn't get the full experience playing against the "CPU." I feel like I had a harder time than I would expect getting an angled bounce with the paddles. The black holes and speed tracks seemed like they would be an interesting mechanic if I was better at controlling the direction of the ball. Also, the AI was extremely simple, which I get is an affect of it being a game jam game, but it did impact the playability of the game.

Also, on the topic of the dev-log post, I think it was a good move to drop the random elements. I had a problem with taking the theme too literally a few years back (the year the theme was "Out of Control"), which significantly affect how people liked the game. I think having a game that didn't have random elements like a lot of the submissions was a smart move on your part. (My game certainly didn't have any mechanically-significant random elements this year, just some aesthetic ones)

Neat idea overall. A bit of inertia on the player might improve the movement?

Solid graphics and theme. I wish that the black holes affected the ball more or did something else entirely, as they just ended up slowing down the game (which was a bit too slow/long for my tastes). I think it could've also been cool if you rolled to see what map you got instead of a simple increase/decrease. Good work!

I liked the idea, and the way points increased based on the amount of black wholes there were. I was also quite happy to see another game which uses sound effects. The controls were good but a tincy bit on the stiff side, I don't have too much experience with Godot so I'm not quite sure what I'd suggest.

Interesting game,  got a bit confused cause I'm using an Azerty  keyboard, could not make in time to my base X)

A pretty fun and interesting spin-off of air hockey! I love the art design and simplicity. The background sound was a bit loud and I was a bit confused about how this fits the theme of the game jam. Otherwise, congratulations on finishing and great work!

Super fun little game! Sadly I have only the green (eww) computer to play with but I’d probably be even better with friends. The taunt system is great, I love it. I just wish the computer would taunt me back.

Well done!

Fun to bounce the ball around as chaotically as possible.

That's totally magenta and magenta is great.

Funny insults, gameplay is okay its just pong with gravitational pull, the sounds get annoying after a while too.

Its enjoyable, definitely fits the bill for the jam though missing the randomness other works provide

Playing against the AI is like playing against a wall, it's defense is so solid I can't even score once.

The insults made me smile a few times, but the jab at having no friends hurts :D

Congrats on completing the jam !

As someone who really enjoys air hockey I must say I think this was a nice improvement! Really good work! :D

Oh and I agree, magenta is much cooler than green!

Cool variation on pong- I struggled a bit to keep the ball moving and it stopped fully a few times but other than that gud game!

Nice game, fun to play, the audio can get a bit annoying to be honest.

Really cool take on the pong, actually having the option to toggle 1 player or 2 player is super nice, and the taunts are quite hilarious :D

The taunts become a necessity after I decided to add local multiplayer.

Enjoyable twist on the classic pong! I feel that the black holes should affect the ball a little harder (affecting their trajectory more). As-is the effect seemed small.

I also think there was an opportunity for the ball hitting the black hole causing a "Roll of the Dice" effect, but it may had adverse impact on the gameplay.

Good submission!

I did think of adding random events during gameplay, but then I imagined there were going to be lots of fully randomized games so I didn’t want to pile on, I may do it in future versions.

I really like what you did with the theme! Very fun  idea, good art; I'd be curious to see a fully polished version of this. Though I do think the influence of the black holes isn't as noticeable/impactful as it could be. Lots of room to play with the idea, imo.

Cool game! Had fun with the 2 player. The game feels polished, and the blackholes add a nice amount of chaos. Well done!
