Game Description
Escape hell while trying not to void your contracts
How does your game tie into the theme?
2 ways: Firstly you have the contract mechanic where you can void rewards if you use certain moves, secondly we have a friend who works on a company with "void" in the name so we decided to make a game about him

First platformer for this jam that I really enjoyed! Awesome job. Controls felt a bit floaty but that's ok!
I really like the take on the theme!
Wow, that is a good platformer! I really loved the contracts setting limitations on the levels. Genius I tell you!! The introduction was also well done. I would like to play it with a controller.
Overall, well done. Nice work. Hope to see more from you in the future!
Top game, very enjoyable
A quick game to pick up and the contracts give it a nice twist. Really nice visuals and audio that fits perfectly with the retro style.
Loved the aesthetics on this, the shader gives it a retro-feel! Once the contracts choice show up, the theme really clicked for me. Not sure if it would help with the visual salience of the ceiling spikes with a shader of sorts, but I sometimes miss those (especially given that some of the black ceiling have jagged sprites too)!
An overall great game and I loved the contract system as a way to choose your own difficulty!
Great platformer. I love the twist of the added challenge. Interesting use of void.
I ran into a bug where my checkpoint kept respawning me onto a spike and I got soft locked. Just a heads up!
Like the idea that you have to beat the lvl without using one of the mechanics, that's challenging and fun)
The theme implementation is original)
Thank you for playing!
Looks great and is fun. The concept is great as well. i love the games that used void as in contracts. Our game did something similar. This game was very unique and definitely stands out. while the controls were very smooth, it felt a little hard to control the player in the air. and the game felt a bit punishing at times.
Yeah we agree, its hard not to make a hard game because we (of course) know the game. Live and learn. Thanks for playing
I really liked the contract system, but i got wrecked by it. I seemed to get stuck into corners where there was nothing to do but break contract. Might be a skill issue. The presentation and look of the game was spectacular, especially for a game jam's worth of time. Great job guys!
Oh no! We tried to make sure all level blocks were completable with every contract but to be fair in a game jam we might have missed a few. Thanks for playing
It was the avoid checkpoints contract. One of the levels has a checkpoint about mid-way through that is in a tunnel that I at least could not jump over. The other contracts/level brought out the perfect level of panic to try and avoid things, which I do truly believe is just a skill issue on my part. I did have a fun time though, promise!
The contract mechanic was really clever, I loved it! The music was great, I liked the CRT post-processing effect. Overall really great job on this game, I had a lot of fun playing it :)
We are super glad you enjoyed it, thanks for playing
The controls felt as smooth as silk. The overshooting made movement hard, but it still seemed fair. Losing all coins when you died by lava felt unintuitive. It was hard to see the lava. Maybe the screen could go down by a small margin to show the lava when it's close? Sometimes the character would get caught in a loop of ding at his spawn point. The story was funny, and I like how it was incorporated into the gameplay! :)
Great game!
Thanks for the feedback, on one of our last playtest we questioned the whole lava as the project evolved beyond the need for it, but we felt like it was too late to make those changes. Thanks for playing
Really fun concept and has potential to grow more, i especially liked the art. very fun game!
Thank you so much
Cool platformer and works well with the contracts.
Thank you for playing
Very very VERY fun concept! This could have a lot of potential for a very fun game if you tighten the controls a little, but there's a lot of interesting emergent gameplay coming from just how you organized the random level bits. Looks great as well. Good job!
Yeah it was a first for us to do a platformer and we learned a lot on what makes controls feel tight. Thanks so much for playing
Super fun game and great looking art style. I especially love the contract system and how it ties into the theme. Controls are pretty solid as well. A few upgrades and this could be a retail game. :D
Wow thas high praise, thank you so much
Nice retro looks!
Thank you for playing :)
the contracts mechanics is super cool! adds a new layer to the platforming
Thank you so much for playing.
The contracts are an interesting added-challenge concept and the controls are tight. You spend the game going upward and the mechanics like double jump and walljump lend to that. There's also a nice shader effect. Solid game.
Thank you for the nice comment and thanks for playing
