Honestly this game got a few good laughs out of me. Great job being entertaining, I thought the jokes were pretty silly and fun. Like others have said, some audio would have really added to the vibe and charm, but overall this is a good submission!

I thought the background and graphics were very good looking and the story was engaging and fun, nice job on this game!

There's actually quite a lot going on here and it's even quite long, and interesting and funny throughout - very nice job!

I think it's a pretty long play duration to actually play this all the way through to the end, especially for a jam submission, but I really enjoyed the experience from beginning to end, so great work on it!

I think this game might really benefit from audio and sound effects, but I think it's very difficult to do any of that in such a short time. It may be a hard choice to sacrifice the quality of the game for putting  audio and SFX. Or have to somehow make the game in such a way that audio can be put in so easily along with the game, and all at high speed and high quality. Things like that are much easier said than done.

I did like the really interesting dialogue and good humor throughout. I thought you did really well on this game - really nice job!

Amazing the amount of content you got here, but I gotta say I would have loved for some audio, also maybe cutting out a bit of the extra and getting to the cool parts faster? regardless great job and congrats man.

The size of the map and amount of added content is really impressive in that timeframe. As advice you should have added half as much content and some more polish. I think most players won't see the huge content as they give up earlier (which is sad for you and the game!)

In the priority list I would add some minimal sound effects and a UI theme that fits to the game graphics. Really low effort, but such a huge win to sell this good game!

Capybara, capybara capyba capybara. I go out of the map and discover other worlds

This was cute! You clearly spent a lot of time in the writing and level design, there's quite a bit of game duration here! I can't seem to un-toggle Deaf Mode and it was enabled by default; it definitely turned off any sounds but I didn't see any Deaf Mode sound indicators on screen (but I don't know where sounds might have happened so its hard to tell if its working as intended and I just didn't get near any sound sources while I was playing). Congrats on your first game jam game!

I enjoyed it, good use of Orwellian pigs.

Impressive how much you were able to add in the timeline. The dialog felt too long at times, but just breaking it up so you didn't need to scroll might help. I was surprised how built out everything was. If you wanted the initial area to feel different than the human area I would have leaned more into a different visual style. Otherwise it just felt less complete than the other areas. I liked the little walk animation

Was deaf mode left checked because of no audio?

Developer

Yes, no audio :d

Pablo Escobar jump scare was not what I was expecting

This game is ABSOLUTE CINEMA

I'm amazed that you were able to add a lot of dialogues, quests and all this history in one week! This give me old RPG vibes, and I love it! Also great play with the wildcard by creating choices in the lore

You guy deserves an award, only thing I noticed is that I couldn't unactivate deaf mode, so idk if there's sounds and music or not.

Other than that, great game, keep it up!

Finally! A game involving fruits!

It is quite impressive what a large and involved world you crafted. I particularly liked the puzzle to get into the 1984 pig area (poor guys!) and the quest tracker was a cool add. I was able to escape from the forest right after picking up the stick involving Unicode escape characters so I thought it was intentional lol. I think splitting up the dialogue into separate text blocks might help make it a bit easier to follow and prevent you from having to scroll too much, but this was truly expansive and often funny. I liked the bush breathing fire especially lol.

Great work!

Developer

Thank you greatly for the feedback! You were not the first one to get out of the map near Unicode string, I somehow overlooked that. Might be that escape characters escaped a tree ^_^.  About splitting dialogues, that's also a great thing, I would try to incorporate that in my future games!

A lot of content, well done! After I got a key I did not know where to go and my quests list disappeared. It would be good to keep using this to give some hints on what to do or where to go? The puzzle to get in the cave was well done, with a small hint to when you get stuck. Long live the Capibara!

surprisingly built out for a little jam game. I love the Sacred Capybara.

Really good storyline and rpgmaker vibes, I can't add much to it, just some audio would be nice! Also, Capybaras are amazing.

Congrats and good luck!

It was really creative and unique, and I liked exploring the different areas and seeing the characters and conversations you put in there.  The UI of dialogues and choices is really great, even if I felt like some dialogue text could be separated in two to make them more easy to read. Otherwise the humor is good and the story interesting (sometimes hard to follow with enigmatic phrasing but I think that was intentional, even if at the end I still didn't understand everything). Anyway, a great idea and a great execution, good job !

This was a unique little adventure, and I love the capybara protagonist and the surrealism of the world. Some audio would add immensely to the world's feel. The 1984 + Animal Farm area was super creative, and I laughed at some of the bizarre comedic elements (like the excessively specific legend, the long ponder about the help sign, and the pig's eating animation).

It felt a bit long, especially since I felt like I only got to make a few infrequent choices, and it was unclear why my choices affected the ending at all. Also there's a section where I accidentally left the map through the forests in the northeast area. This would be really cool with some more gameplay mechanics and some clarity on how the ending works.

Overall nice work!

The game could use some audio. Otherwise, great work.

Developer

Yeah, I was doing the game jam alone, and audio is the thing that I'm absolute zero at. So no audio for this.

Technically, I could have searched for some free sounds and soundtracks, yeah. But there wasn't much time do it either, so it is what it is. I'll try to add music and sound effects to my future games!

Some of the text boxes have so much content that you have to scroll them, which is a little annoying. I appreciated the accessibility settings and the totally bizarre and unique setting. Nice game overall!

Developer

Thanks for feedback, I will take into account the too much text in a scrolling box thing and make my future games better (or even update this one once the jam ends).

Capybara protagonist was cute! I did find the exploration to collect sticks and the temple door puzzle a little long. I was almost ready to give up before accidentally finding where the teleport happens to get the stick visible from the walkway. The dialogue text boxes contained a lot of scrolling text I found myself needing to hit space to stop it from making me a little dizzy. I didn't replay to see the other possible endings from my choices, but nice use of the wildcard.

Developer

Thanks for feedback. It seems like scrolling text boxes is a decent problem for many people here. I had an idea to add another cool mechanic to stick forest but gave up on it to not overscope and finish the game.
