Really fun game, and a lovely level design. I tried to use the controller controls, but the right trigger didn't seem to work :(, but the keyboard controls were straight forward! I really like the extra detail of you mowing the grass if you go over it again haha. Great game!

Developer

Thanks for your time and feedback! I regrettably didn't test out controller too heavily on the HTML version, but I did notice that the right trigger sometimes did and didn't work for me as well after submitting, something for me to look into for next time! I'm glad you enjoyed some aggressive de-thatching ;)

Oh this is an interesting little puzzle game. Couldn't tell you why but the start reminded me of Stardew Valley with the pixel art and music. Then it was a spatial puzzle game!

Developer

High praise indeed to be even mentioned alongside the great Stardew :) Thanks for playing!

Great job! Was very chill :)

A nice, relaxing idea. It took me a second to get used to the controls, but in the end I got it! I instinctively went for a solution which would have allowed the car to reach the end of the drive without worrying about clearing all of the snow, but I think the game is striving for completion over efficiency? Overall, I think it is a neat interpretation of the theme.

Developer

Thanks for playing and your feedback! It's a little bit of both (completion/efficiency) in it's current form, but I think requiring the minimum completion can take away a little bit of the fun so I'm reconsidering it for further development. Thanks again!

Solid game! I like how you had other tiles change apart from just snow, such as grass going to dirt.

Thanks for your time and feedback!! I got a kick out of the idea of ruining someones lawn (or trees!) with a snowblower - I wanted to expand on that idea a bit more but had to cut it for time reasons, I hope to revisit it post-jam :)

I really like the concept and the execution is solid. The controls are intuitive and the feedback for where snow goes, the ice, revealing the ground, etc. all very well done. It can be a bit difficult to see the direction of the chute before throwing snow. I think the balance between rewarding efficiency and needing to intuit/discover where to remove snow is complicated and feels overly punishing as is stands right now. But, it did get me to spend the most time playing this entry (so far). Excellent job!

Thanks for taking the time to play and leave this great feedback! I do agree that the chute could benefit from either a clearer sprite or an additional HUD element to indicate it's direction for clarity. Admittedly, my pre-submission playtesters were all New Englanders, and after watching others play and gathering feedback I see now that I was in a bit of a New Englander-snow-experienced bubble! Balancing the "passing" threshold as well as the ability to discern locations to clear is high up on my list to address going forward. Thanks again for your time and all your feedback!

Funny and cute game, I feel like the objective should be more clear tho'

Developer

Thank you for taking the time to play! I do agree after getting some feedback and watching some others play, the objective could have been made a bit clearer and I should have prioritized some of my ideas around that higher, lessons learned!

I quite like it!

Loads of material for just a single person working on the project too!

Tbh, I feel like I'd already be like "yeah, I'd pay a couple quid to play that"
So, it's the most complete jam entry I've seen yet

Wow! What a wonderful thing to read, thank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to play!

Was nice, I like the soundtrack - I saw from #gwp-wip

Thanks for taking the time to play! I really enjoyed these two songs and I was fortunate in my searches to have found them as I felt they fit really well.

It took me a while to become familiar with the 9-button control system, but after that it becomes very fun and relaxing! It sounds simple but it is not! And this I like very much in games!

Developer(+2)

Thanks for taking the time to give it a try! I'm glad you experienced a lot of what I was looking to capture from my real life experience!

I played it once and it really didn't click for me but I tried again and spent a long while on it, very simple but so fun

Developer

Thanks for taking the time to not only try it but give it a second try, I sincerely appreciate it! I'm glad it clicked for you. Anything you think I could do better to help people over that initial hump?

This is one of those games on stream where I was like "I have to play that". As somebody who grew up in the midwest, USA, I've been the person to snowblow my driveway (and honestly it was just fun to shovel things too) and it's just a good time! This game perfectly captured that feeling for me, and although, yes, it could have been a little clearer to see what area you need to clean up, I thoroughly enjoyed it and especially liked the little jankyness where you could just blow snow onto the buildings and cars. I thought the snow piles were a great touch too! Super effective presentation especially with the story in between. Great job!

Developer

Thank you for your time and your feedback I really appreciate it! I'm glad you felt it captured the experience well as that's what I was shooting for - inspired by the recent weather we've had up in the north east! Had I more time I wanted to add sprites for the snow piling up on the cars/buildings for a little bit of a laugh but that didn't quite make the cut! Thanks again for your feedback and kind words!

Took me a while to figure out that i only had to clear the roads, not the entire map, I was like wtf how long do these levels take.
I would make it so you can find out if you have cleared enough of the level to finish it without ending the level and restarting (maybe like a little ui) as I did that a couple times and its annoying to have to start over.

I like the effect when you hit a tree and how you can double mow and fk up peoples lawns.

Developer

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I really like the idea of some sort of progress bar/indicator, great suggestion! I'm glad you enjoyed those details as much as I liked adding them 😁

I enjoyed this! We did a Lawn Mowing game, so very similar brain waves for "Erase!"

Developer

Thanks! I enjoyed yours as well, my idea actually began as a mowing game inspired by my wife's obsession with the lawn mower in Dinkum but I ended up taking a bit more inspiration from our real life weather recently :)

Where is the Drunk Finn yelling at the snowblower?!?

Developer

A missed opportunity! Though I don't want to make it too realistic! :P
