The intro comic was super cool, a lot of love was put into adding a world and personality behind the mechanics which can be really hard in a jam so it was really appreciated. Encircling the enemies was a fun way to erase them and a fun use of the theme.

I would have liked to see the core encircling mechanic be tied more deeply to having two controllable entities, not exactly sure what that would look like but I spent a while just using one characters to defeat enemies (when they shared the same space). The enemies could even be coloured coded where each player can take out certain enemy types, could make the use both characters more dynamic. I also had a small issue with realising what the faint line was for and it took me a bit to see the scissors the first time as they’re quite similar in size to the flowers and other decorations.

Really cool game and really great work on providing a setting and narrative to ground the mechanics.

Wow, this was such a kind comment, thank you. Yeah, we absolutely were planning on doing color coded challenges and giving each pencil their own identity, but we ran out of time.  Also, I was in charge of making the layout of the game and I must admit that I was too excited to showcase the assets that our artist made and what ended up happening is that I muddied the readability of the scene.

Very fun (and challenging!) concept. Trying to play this alone was tough - I kept losing track of which hand controlled which character - but that's definitely part of the game's charm and difficulty.

I really liked the style of the introduction - beautiful art! The background music was also nice!

I played on MacOS and had a few issues with the scaling:

I also had some issues with the controls at times, where a character would seemingly be blocked from going in a certain direction for a while, without any clear indications why (although that may just be me being bad).

The terrain was also a bit hard to read - some parts seemed to be elevated, but I wasn't clear which ones, and where to enter them from.

Overall though, I did enjoy the game! Good job to the three of you! :)

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! We deliberately always keep the WASD character on the left of the IJKL to help people keep track of which hand controls each character. If the movement was blocked that's because the character was trying to move to the other side of the characters. We added a subtle black bar between the characters to try and make this clear, but we have to work on our readability.

Ahhh that definitely explains it! Thanks!

Fun game! I couldn't figure out how to get the final door open and there was an enemy outside the walls.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, to open the door you have to defeat all enemies in the room but we admittedly bumped into some navigation issues, so probably some enemies wandered outside of the room and became unreachable :(

The windows .zip seems to be a godot project zip, rather than an .exe export

Developer

Oh! That's a really wierd bug.  I'm sorry to hear that. When we download and extract it we get the windows.exe. In our computers, when we extract it, it creates a folder called "home" with several nested folders. Did you get a similar result or is it just the godot project?

Hi! I tried it again today and got it to work--not sure what the issue was before.

Cute game, interesting mechanics with controlling 2 characters

Developer

We're happy to hear that :)

This was lovely to play, the controls are a bit hard for a single player but it is possible to play alone. The music is also very cute. Really liked it.

Developer

We're delighted that you tried our game and that you liked it. We encourage you to try out other games in the jam :)

It was fun to play! Love the two player gameplay and the music is very neat :)
Character controls are a little bit hard to master at first ^^ Still very nice !

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, we bumped into a lot of issues trying to make controlling two characters intuitive to control, but it's nice to see that people are having fun :)
