I love the concept of calmness, and easing worries. Most of the things I felt missing have already been addressed by others. But I do want to say l liked the minimal visuals - just wished there had been a few more things to interact with.

Game Description
An Iyashikei (healing) experience. It's (supposed to be) about helping others -- well, that was the idea. Didn't manage to get the other levels done in time.
How does your game tie into the theme?
Erase can have negative, and possibly violent connotations. I wanted to subvert that idea, and make something I see as positive and soothing

Super calming. I tried my best to do everything (drink tea, make meal, light the candles) I'm not sure if I got everything. I like the style, I wish there was pop-ups for each of the interactable like the tea, I assume you also did but ran out of time! I also wish there was some audio as others have suggested. Great work though!! :)
Nice game! I’m not sure if there was more to it, but I could only make some tea, then sleep, and then I got some text. Good take on the theme.
There's a great idea here - I really like your interpretation of the theme. As others have suggested, I think some feedback to the player on which items are interactable would be good. Good start to the game :)
I enjoy the experience of this, you should definitely expand on this in the future. As others have said, it would be nice to have some indicator of what can be interacted with.
This is definitively a step in the right direction! However, there's a lot of room for improvements.
Firstly, it's kinda difficult to tell what objects are interactable. I'd love to see a colored outline appear when you hover your mouse over something that is interactable.
Also, you want the game to be experienced by the player, so I'd love to see more details in the atmosphere, like sound effects, particles, etc.
And lastly, I was very confused when I completed the game, it wasn't clear enough to me. I thought the game would load the next scene or something like that.
Anyways, keep up the great work man <3
Thank you for playing ^_^
I agree with hidden objects / picture in picture games, sometimes it's difficult to tell what's interactable. I thought I had put few enough objects on the screen that it wouldn't be a problem. But yes, you're right. It can be frustrating.
I guess there are several solutions I've seen that could work.
- There's what you say: highlight on mouse-over
- As well as making 'everything' interactable (give player feedback) like in Erase the Evidence.
- Trying to make interactable things 'stand out' by the art, as some old games (but that can be a frustration in itself).
- As well as 'hold key to reveal all interactables' like in newer adventure games (eg: Deponia)
Music, sounds:
This is kind of a dual-prong of
- I've seen them done badly enough, that including them can detract more from the experience than just having nothing.
and
- I don't really know where to start.
I figure I'd have to make my own music, and sound effects. I can try making ones with my mouth, which I think would be funny.
Or maybe record them around the house.
For the hands holding the cup, I took a picture of someone chilling, and traced over it.
What do you think is a good start?
Animations
I actually meant to use this jam to practice animating.
Clearly that didn't happen :/
Completed the game - Yup
Entirely on me.
I wanna say I ran out of time, but I'm honestly not sure how to 'end' it properly.
Maybe a thank you for playing, and an animation of a curtain closing?
Great tone set-up, really liked the style and messaging. Would have loved some sound effects, bubbling from the kettle, gentle flicker of the flame, scribbles when new things are added to the screen. I’m sure the other levels you planned would have been great.
I do like MS-Paint style in games, but expected more content. I like to use hand writing in my games too, but it was suggested to me to find a hand writing font that best fit and use it instead, as public fonts are more easily read and tested.
