  • GDD: The document seems good with the brainstrom to see the team's initial thoughts. Clearly the team went number five. I do noticed that the document doesnt have images / gifs of the mechanics, which would have be a nice thing to added. Since the document also have an art section, perhaps included some images of the game. Like enemies, level design, the character of gary and etc. Good to included development ideas, but I feel like this could have converted into a timeline version of this, but I am glad to see such awesome ideas and hope these ideas could be planned for the future. Game: I did see in the comments that you have provided an updated version of the game. (even tho the first submitted game works just fine) That being said, I have provided feedback on both versions. Good with the main menu and option setting. The 2.5 design seems impressive, and the game mechanics feels fun, but the initial reaction of the first version's gameplay is that the game needs a tutorial of how to use Gary's power properly. and the next couple of mins was me trying to understand of how the level design works with Gary. Some of the elements in the game level doesn't work well with gameplay in 2.5 (the rotated elements) My thoughts are that one should slowly introduce the mechanics over time during play-session. I have played on the updated version afterward of the first version and I do see that the game has tutorial and a better level design. But sometimes gary falls off where he shouldn't be falling off, and I died a lot during the scientist room due to the fall-off bug. Bugs: * the game frozed when I clicked on rethink your life in first version. * gary falls off when he should not be. (updated version)

yes

Summarise your game!
Geiger Gary is a stealth-based platforming game where your health is being reduced at a constant rate, you can phase through ceilings, and you have to be near enemies to absorb their health but avoid their sight lines to reach the end of each level.

Please explain how your game fits the theme:
Gary is made out of pure radiation. His existence is the weapon.

We all had a ton of fun making this game and we are excited for the world to meet Geiger Gary!

Solid game, I did play a patched version, but the mechanics were solid, and the level design was nice. There was a MASSIVE frame drop about half way through which could not be fixed by reloading, but other than that it's pretty solid. 8/10

Played the patched version through.

Great visual style

I would increase regen 20x when next to a barrel as it already doesn't go above half health

perhaps make every jump as powerful as the up-jump and raycast to ceiling to give an even more powerful one to snap to the top

glorping under the fan will softlock until death

sound when failing to glorp could maybe be something other than a 'good' sound, maybe Gary says 'I can't'

it was a pleasure serving with you all

Geiger Gary is a stealth-based platformer where you radiate your enemies in the hopes of surviving long enough to get revenge on those who wronged you.

Unfortunately we had issues submitting our final game on time for the jam.. For those still interested in seeing what Geiger Gary is all about, please check out this URL for our final working Game Jam copy of Geiger Gary: https://cull-sans.itch.io/geigergary

The version here at this link is the version of Geiger Gary we meant to submit. We fixed an issue with the Godot web export that was causing our game to not even load in browser. We also made two, tiny bug fixes after the jam cutoff.

One was a scripting change on the final boss to let you see the whole animation before the end cutscene played (our artists did incredible work and you should see it)

Two was a menu bug that can happen with Godot that we fixed up.

Otherwise the Gary at the above link is the Gary we wanted to share with you all. Thanks!
