Thank you for your feedback. I like to explore the "art style is a bit inconsistent."?
So, as I see, there are three parts to art style use;
- The main game characters, which are all an extension of the 16x16 dungeon set, with animation made by myself, would like to have more animation, but these take more time than I had to develop.
- The backgrounds, which, tbh were minimalistic because I ran out of time, so the windows added were to fill the space, and while I did consider adding some images, I felt that would not be in pixel art style and would be jarring.
- The menu art, again, was a quick asset grab because I wanted something other than the standard button box
Or was it something else? I would like to get more in-depth feedback
You said most of what I meant, but there's the other aspect where some assets are shaded, others aren't, some have black outlines, others gray lines or just don't have them at all.
Don't take this in a bad way, I make primarly pixel art games, and my eyes are automaticaly drawn these things.
Anyways, I wish you good luck in your future projects. Have a nice day!
Got a 35 after I understood I can actually kill the orcs and not only stun them. Also nice animations!
37 ! The game was difficult, but at the same time I had a lot of fun improving! Well done :)
wow this was fun! i liked the difficult but exciting gameplay a lot!
The visuals were awesome, used a ton of awesome sprites for variety. I wish I had more time to add that much variety. Great job, this was an art piece for 8 hours
Great visuals and sounds too.
I liked the gameplay, but I got lost when I went off screen... maybe I turned into a bat? :D
