I love this game's visuals, looks like you worked hard on it and it is super cool. It kind of reminds me of hotline miami! Also it is really hard and I like that :D Also feel free to try my game!
It was an interesting new challenge to import the graphics. I was surprised how well it turned out. The process took a bit to figure out but we had a few good strokes of luck to make it all come together so well. Glad you enjoyed the difficulty. I generally tend to create more difficult games especially for jams. I will be sure to pass your compliments on to my teammate, my little brother. He will be happy to hear you enjoyed the visuals.
Really cool style, crazy that your artists only 12! Very charming game, it's hard to make this style work and you did a great job
It was an interesting new challenge with the art style to be sure. I was actually surprised how solid it turned out. Bit of luck with the lighting where we were photographing the sprites to bring them in. I think the yellowish hue helped a lot for allowing us to keep each layer clear. Glad you enjoyed it and I will be sure to pass your compliments on!
I absolutely love the art and how the game works. Thank you for a wonderful experience, it would be cool to see more of this game!
Glad you enjoyed it! I do plan on a small post jam update to fix some unintentional bugs, refine a few systems, and add a feature we cut. I'll pass your compliments on to my teammate, my little brother. He will be happy to hear you enjoyed the first game he has helped make.
The art and music are fun, but the enemies kill you in one hit and the dodge roll doesn't seem to work if you go diagonally.
We did decide as a team for the enemies to one shot you. It fits with the genre of stealth we based this on. Not sure why the diagonal roll wasn't working for you. That's the first time we have heard of that happening. What happens when you attempt the diagonal roll?
Played your game again to see what I meant. Just noticed that it would be nice to able to skip through the intro, the restarts are also very abrupt. Dodging diagonally does work, my bad. I think I was confused that he doesn't dodge in the direction he is fasing, but the direction he's moving into. Now when you diagonally dodge, it is very easy to get stuck in the wall, which is a bit of a problem.
If it were any other jam theme the wall problem would be an issue. But it is intentional in this case. Its actually pretty useful for staying alive or unseen. As for the replaying intro, that was on our list unfortunately we didn't get the save load system in. Maybe in our post jam update hopefully.
The art style has a nostalgic childlike feel that takes me back to when I was a young artist drawing video game designs in school. Ignoring my teachers and school work, while daydreaming what my games would look like if they where real. Good job.
That is a really great description. I may work that into my post jam recap video, credit given of course. I will pass your compliments on to my teammate, my little brother. He has been happy to see such positive reactions to the first game jam he has participated in.
Awesome work! Absolutely love the unique art style
I was surprised at how well it turned out. It was a fun experiment. I might use something similar again in the future. Thanks for playing! and I will pass your compliments on to my teammate, my little brother. He will be happy to hear you liked his art. This was his first chance to really participate in a jam so I have been happy for him to see such positive reactions.
Really fun idea with you working together with your little brother. Makes it a whoelsome story and I also think the art style works out pretty well!
Nice wholesome game!
It was fun working with him. He has been wanting to experiment with game dev for a while but normally I am to busy to help him. And there was a bit of luck that we were able to so easily manipulate the lighting to make the art stay visible on different layers. I was pretty happy with how cool it looks. Logging it away for future experiments to be sure.
WOW. great job. amazing game and idea is fantastic. never seen game like this. I noticed bugs with dialog box but it's noting to worry about. Maybe you can add some tutorial because when you open game you must choose character, and player who don't know anything will be confused a bit.
But overall fantastic work. 5/5
Not surprising with the dialog box tbh. I had to throw it together in a very short time. One of the last things I added. It is one of the things I hope to change in the post jam edition. Same with the tutorial. I'll pass your compliments on to my teammate, my little brother. He will be happy to hear you enjoyed the art!
Great stuff !

This game is super fun, well done! The core mechanics are great, a short pause after you die could be nice so you can see how you died but otherwise a great game with some cool art which really makes it stand out.
That will be one of my post jam adjustments. Maybe a death animation of some kind. Glad you like the art. I will pass that on to my teammate, my little brother. Thank you for playing!
Great job! The game is very fun but HARD, I got 2 eggs and died OVER AND OVER but anyways Good game mate! :D
My Game if u want to check it out: THE SQUARE
For some reason that link takes me to 1 bit 2 bit. But I did play your game. Very solid. It was pretty novel of the platformers from this jam I have played to this point.
Wow mates, you did a good job! Liked to dash in walls (:
Thank you. I will pass that on! I was pretty happy with the results. A better tutorial is really my only regret on this project.
well never too late to add a post-update! It's not like i can complain, mine doesn't have a tutorial yet :P I'll add one shortly tho
I liked the art, and sounds! The game was a bit hard to learn, though. :P
Have a good day! :)
Ye I wish I had time to refine my tutorial. Didn't get passed a short text tutorial unfortunately. I will pass your compliments on to my teammate my little brother. He will be happy to hear you liked his art!
I LOVE character selection and also the attribute changes that came with it! My highscore was 4 eggs. Could not get all 5 and to the exit. Had a lot of fun though. :D
I to especially liked how well the character select turned out. I will pass your compliments on to my teammate, my little brother. It was his first time participating in a jam so he will be happy to hear it. It is a bit of a steep curve with getting all 5 eggs. Thanks for playing!
I really hope you both keep developing games in the future! :D My brother and me would tear each other apart if we worked on a project together. xD
Helps I have been doing it for a while. Right now its my full time job. Its also because he is 12, about 13 years age difference.
Ooooh so he is looking up to you. Very cute. The age difference is definitely important. It is only about 2 years for my brother and me. :) I wish you the best of luck on continuing your journey as a developer! I hope we meet each other again in another jam. x)
the art style is very unique! i love it! good job!
I was happy with how well it turned out. It was a bit of a stroke of luck that the lighting was so easily manipulated to give it that unique yellowish hew. And I'll pass your compliments on to my teammate, my little brother, who did the art/design. This was his first jam so I am happy to see such positive feedback.
Great game with fun movement!
I personally liked the art style!
Keep up the great work!
Honestly I was really happy how well the art style turned out. It was a bit of luck that the area we were taking photos had easy to manipulate lighting. I might mess around with this style in a later game, though I would likely mix it in with some more classic pixel art to make sure it stays fresh. I'll pass your compliments on to my teammate, my little brother. He will be happy his first jam game he helped with is getting such great reviews.
Oh, is this a Rogue-like? Nice to see one. I actually like the graphics too!
By the way, it would be neat if this had a tutorial, but other than that, amazing game, fun to play! :)
I do wish I was able to get in a stronger tutorial. The text tutorials are never enough but unfortunately I ran out of time before I could move past that point. I also was surprised how good the graphics actually turned out. It was a bit of an experimental attempt but worth it. Glad you enjoyed it! I'll pass your compliments on to my teammate, my little brother, who will be happy to see that his first jam game he was part of creating is getting such great feedback!
Took Me longer to figure out the Game then I care to admit haha but is was a very fun experience Great Job!
Part of that is my text tutorial is very poor. I really wanted to refine it but I just didn't get time to finish it. Ah well so it goes with making jam games. Glad you enjoyed the game! I will pass your comments on to my teammate, my little brother.
Yeah that time crunch I get ya! Yeah pass on a good job to your bro aswell, look forward to the next project you guys make :)
My favorite game so far.
Appreciate that! I'll let my teammate, my little brother, know that you enjoyed it!
Wow! This has been the most creative game I have seen so far. Will definitely be following for more of your games :)
I appreciate that! I was surprised how well it ended up. Did quite a bit of new experimental things. I especially put a lot of time into making the patrol script which I think turned out pretty solid. I was also surprised how strong the art style ended up. I will pass your compliments on to my teammate, my little brother.
