An answer from 2017 that has a solution that no longer works. Please consider my options I have given here: Why don't admins relay to whoever made them staff that we need an exclude tag option? - Questions & Support - itch.io

Also, with over 1.02 MILLION GAMES you would think an exclusion option would take priority, especially when it is a highly requested topic. If there are lots, and lots, and lots of discussions about this, then maybe it's an issue that needs to be taken with a higher priority as many of your users and developers are asking this simple addition of your sites developers. Instead of a roundabout answer, you should take the time to send this and all the other requests to someone higher up than waste time telling us a solution that all of us have seen and tried before, as it is the one of the first three search results on google if you search, "Itchio exclude tags" or "how to exclude tags on itchio".

I understand that there is probably a path your team is taking to make additions to the site, but it takes 1-2 people and a few lines of code to alter a search result. and if/then/else statement could be made as an idea, but idk

that has a solution that no longer works

You need to be logged into your account for that solution to work. It works fine. It just is a hassle to add the url filter. If you use the same search parameters often, use a bookmark.

Did you hit the feedback button and clicked feature request and suggested a multiple tag exclusion with user interface?

I don't need to ask for a feature when mods have been telling us roundabout ways to fix such a simple solution for years and even said themselves to follow an 8 year old post that is now defunct.

When I log in, I can use the method I said above to bypass ONE (1) tag, not multiple. Plus this is not helpful for people who just want to play games and not have to seek out these methods and learn how to properly utilize these methods, like casual gamers or older audiences who aren't adept with url extensions or introductory website knowledge.

If you want a feature, please hit the feedback button and describe the feature and why you think it would enhance the browsing for games.

It takes a few seconds. Why do you think you do not need to ask for a feature through the official channels? It will not reflect actual demand for a feature, if everyone just is silent in the official channel, but laments in community.

In other words: suggest the feature on the official suggest feature button. And ask in community how to browse for games without such a feature.
