I was using a staff at the time because mostly using Spark, so that makes sense why they couldn't be used at the time, that solves the mystery.

Yes, I met her in her room and I click Train instead of Heal, she then disappeared. She's not in my party (currently have 4 other members, but I believe at the time when I click on Train, I only had 3 other members, probably doesn't matter). She not following or in my party, so that's why I believe this is a bug. I have already fought monsters on the west/east side many times and already killed the boss at floor 3 right now and did the additional quest that was unlocked because of it. She's still not in her room and I don't know where she disappeared to. I've progressed a lot since that point, if it's a bug, I really hope there can be a fix and not just bugged forever at this point (Mellissa being gone forever).

Melissa don't join you. Maybe you lost some relationship point to continue her story.

You gain 1 point rescuing her at the game start;
1+ when she join your party and then leave when you hit lv5(or when you go to the ruins mission);
1+when you help the priest clean the fountain;
1+talking to her at the forest;
1+training her in her room;
1+talking to her in front of the church.

If you did all of this, just keep doing your things, go back to the village after unlocking the F4 in the dungeon. You will have a event with Melissa at the village entrance.

Her not being in her room is what confused me, she showed up again after Floor 4 with the Paladin quest, like you've said. So she'll just continue not be in her room until she comes back I guess, whenever that is.

It looks like I'm picking both girls, I wonder if there's a bad ending going down this path.
