1) Don't ever use autosave, causes more issues like this if you're not expecting it. 2) F6 to save as backup, so you at least have something to load back to in case anything like this happens again in the future. 3) Reset your player stats, just make sure to drop the rad capsule and F5 to quick save immediately after. 4) Buy a hazmat suit next time, handling fissile material is never good for your long-term health. Or short-term in this case.
