Yooo, thank you for checking our game out!

And yeah, sadly the "wrath" meter and the curses were last-minute additions due to a drastic change of design right at the end of the jam - we didn't quite get to add some juice to it, so you don't really notice getting some curses if you don't know what's happening (like Poison, which is what took down your health - you can get it after the meter fills up, or when being in the same room as the tombstones). 

Mentioned this in another comment, but we see this as a tech demo more than anything else - showcasing the core idea of a much bigger game we envision and plan on continuing to make :D
