It's a good idea and would be in the spirit of arcade games to have a shared scoreboard but I made the game for my kid and I just want him to compete against his own score.

Done! Added high score tracking. The game over screen now shows your high score and if you get a new high score then you get a different screen that shows you that you beat your previous best.
