A short horror experience with a few nifty details, like the family staring, the sound effects and the mirror. Made you feel on edge, like someone would pop up at you any moment. The looping story was also a nice touch.

Cute game with good aesthetic and the feel attacking and using controls is very satisfying. I especially like the use of lighting. You mentioned you didn't focus too much on mechanics and focused on aesthetic, which you did really well on.

Thanks for catching that, actually I've been having a bit of a thonk about the parallax in terms of the movement being a bit weird. We will def need to tweak it after the jam.

Really really simple concept but I quite liked that something so simple can have a bit of a horror factor. Reminds me of those Hotmail ghost chain mails that used to scare me as a kid.

I feel to expand on it, perhaps more pictures that string together an implied backstory would add a bit more to chew on, and a little more impact. But I appreciate the idea behind this.

Fellow late night train game, so I had to check it out. 😂 I liked the little text story, it felt like a visual creepypasta/redditnosleep. Smh, why is my ex being so possessive...

Fairly spooky game, the uncertainty of monster behavior after you saw a glimpse, and the claustrophobic environment amplifies that effect. I felt pretty tense trying to get out.

Some issues I encountered was a small bug where after the monster appears, I picked up a key and the "investigate what you saw" text appears again, with the monster scene where he appears briefly in the beginning replaying. Bug may be related to how I've already died and was retrying. The monster also gets stuck at doors which can trap you or let you escape without worry.

It's quite forgivable for small bugs to appear in jams though, so despite this I thought the game was still one of the spookier ones I've played.

Really enjoyed this. Nice art and aesthetic, dialogues were well written.

Loved the contrast in atmosphere, from a brightly lit, sanitized and somewhat goofy office environment, to something increasingly unsettling. I did encounter a little bug, after I was told to go to HR I went into a room on the bottom (with the "where is everyone" dialogue), and I couldn't leave the room anymore. I restarted and finished the demo however because I was quite intrigued by the game. Really nice for a 10 day jam game.

Interesting and simple concept and story, a nice little game. Kinda suspicious a certain "event" was intentional, without spoiling too much. Good job on the jam!

Developers note: We added a browser playable mode so it's more convenient to hop into the game, however sometimes it lags and takes a while to load.

There is also a downloadable exe to play if browser is being slow, please use that if needed. Thanks homies. 🧐

O sHET I've been waiting to watch LPs tbh.  👀👀👀
I'm hyped to see this one, thanks for taking the time to do it! (Also thanks for that gr8 rating I appreciate it.) 👀💦💦

Thanks for the tip, I didn't realize there was a download since it linked me directly to playing on browser LOL. I tried using the zip file and it played fine. I really liked that walking on water reflection scene, and the pixel screen transitions. It looked really professionally done.

That zombie body slam comment made me lol irl. I was imagining a zombie Pokemon battle style scenario.... 🤔🤔🤔

Thanks for the review! I was thinking that maybe we could have something pop up above the head when we get close to something... not confirmed yet though.

Sadly my computer is so damn potato I couldn't really play it on my browser. But I must say I love these pixel graphics. Really suits my taste haha. I love the overall vibe you have going for this.

Thanks Hawk, really enjoyed watching your stream of the game earlier too! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)/

Wow, thanks for the stellar review! I always cringe when I see people getting rekt by the zombie tbh, we should probably make the zombie slower or the MC faster LOL.

Heyo! Thank you for trying out the game. There is no save in the game unfortunately, we have not implemented the feature in this game jam version. The game should ideally be played in one sitting. (It should take about 30 mins or more less depending on how long the puzzles take you.)

Note about controls: We noticed some people were a little confused about how to use items, and we wanted to mention that you must click an item only once, and the item to use it on once to combine them. Double clicking an item will use the item itself (such as toggling letters etc.), or otherwise cancel the selection. So if you double click an item and then click another item it will not work.
This is because the item check cancels when two incorrect items are selected.

I definitely feel you for a lot of these issues, I noticed some of my friends who played also struggled with knowing where to go (for example knowing where to go in the first map.) The clinic door originally led to another set of events, but we had to cut it out due to time. I felt like it was probably kind of confusing that it was so prominent yet couldn’t be entered LOL.

Unfortunately we weren’t able to iron out a lot of the small issues due to a lack of time and poured most of it into getting a game that can be played from start to finish. These things we’ll definitely look into for future updates. I really appreciate the thoughtful review!

Ayyy thanks for playing all the way through! We were a little worried that some of the puzzles were too vague and people would get confused so I’m glad you somehow got through the game. There is a clue for the safe lock in the room itself... but I won’t spoil too much for others. Hikaru mentioned it but we do have a walkthrough if you’re curious how the puzzles are solved.

Hello your friendly neighborhood greasy-been-in-moms-basement-for-weeks code monkey here with updates brought to you by our fresh blood and salty tears.

Game is slowly coming together, but we had to leave out a lot of planned content due to a lack of time. Hopefully we'll still be able to deliver something enjoyable for you peeps by the deadline. The suffering is real.

Please pray for our code monkeys not to spontaneously die at the keyboard from malnutrition, and for our art monkeys not to get carpel tunnel. They still have exams.

Here are some previews minus spoilers. (Rip Mr. Weedman.)
