Length for music

Just curious to what length of music game creators prefer?

Me personally, I like 45-65 second tracks that loop well. I feel they take less MB's than longer tracks.

That being said... I don't think my opinion is in the majority.

I understand everyone is different. I just needed to get a rough idea.

Really appreciate you taking the time to reply.

Can you tell me what genres of music are popular on here?

Thanks

I don't really know the answer to that, sorry.

Only thing I know is that I've seen some people express interest in ambient in their games (they didn't mention buying music, though), and that lately, in terms of games, I've been seeing a lot of 16-bit/PSX-style JRPGs and modern first-person horror games on Itch.

I've now got an idea on what genres of music to make. My music will be cheap it won't be expensive.

When I make music you will be remembered my friend so thanks.

I personally prefer 2 to 3 minutes looping music for my games.

Before you ask, I don't know about popular music genres here.

I will make various genres and make the tunes about three minutes long.

Appreciate the reply.

I prefer 2 - 3 minutes per track with some variation (key or instrument changes). I often end up mixing shorter 1 minute tracks to get a longer track with variation.

My personal preference is music with a strong melody line that does not sound like cheap electronic music. (I think that type of music tends to get more attention here - but not sure that translates into sales or downloads)

I'm taking notes my friend so thanks.
