Am I the only person excited about the Oculus Quest?

I can't be the only person enamored with teatherless VR. Why is it hard to find people interested in working on a Quest game? I didn't get any replies from my last message on Help Wanted last month. I posted another one today, but I don't know if it will do any better.

I know not everyone's got a headset, but WOW, it's so amazing. Instant VR, anywhere! Mobile chip development is challenging but far from impossible. Is it just the mobile thing? I've done smartphones games with the Unreal before. It's really not that hard. Or do most people really not care about VR? I find that impossible to believe! I don't even touch games that aren't VR related these days. It's like stepping back into CGA, the flatness is painful.

Where are all the VR fans at???

I think got more with the fact that you're talking to the wrong crowd rather than being "the only one interested".

Have you tried looking for partners directly in Oculus or Unreal dev forums?
You already have a portfolio of project, so they'd know you're serious ʕ´°ᴥ °`ʔ

You'd probably have higher chance of success on more targeted websites since  people would immediately share your interest and/or  have the needed competences/material to work with you. ʕ/ ·ᴥ·ʔ/

I submitted game pitch two times and both got rejected. At this point I clueless to how to crack it to the Quest Market place.

Submitting a pitch? Man, I'd just go and make a game, I wouldn't waste time begging for permission first. There's SideQuest, you can get a game out there and people can easily load it into their Quest with that tool. You don't need permission.

Ya....but how do you make money out of it? Its all free games there right?

Money? Does anyone here make money? LoL! I'd be happy if somebody played something I made. I'd be ecstatic if they said something nice as well. Money is unrealistic.

Some ideas can be gold mines, but it's like lottery tickets. Maybe you get the right numbers at the wrong time? Or the one time you should have been in the game, you skipped out. Players are SUPER fickle, easily distracted, and buried alive in new things to try. My Steam library isn't even 75% played at this point. Even if the game is good, getting anyone's attention is next to impossible. A few years ago I had some hopes and dreams about making at least enough to buy a Pizza. Now I'd just like to hear a nice comment or two.

On the upside, if you're going to have an even small chance of hitting it big, VR is a good place to start. Less competition. And the Quest has even less. A good game with some hype on SideQuest could get noticed by Oculus and, yes, even make some money. So in a market where you're likely NEVER going to earn a penny, you're best shot might be a SideQuest game. At least you'll have a tiny chance of getting noticed.

i agree with you.  Exposure of the game is equally important.  Things happen after that. Anyway, if you are interested to collaborate on a project let me know.

Sure, love to. But how do we contact each other? I don't see a "PM" button. Does Itch.io even do private messages?

My username is my skype id.

I'm not fond of Skype, but I do use Hangouts all the time. My name on Hangouts is the same, albeit at Google. Same for email.
