The theme for this year's game jam will be announced later. But here are some things you should know up front:

  • The Theme will not be about ducks or water.
  • The Theme will not be genre-limiting.

Important Dates

  • Jam Start: May 18th, 4:00 PM CST
  • Submission Deadline: May 25th, 4:00 PM CST
  • Voting Period: May 25th, 4:00 PM CST to May 30th, 4:00 PM CST
  • Winners Announcement: May 30th, 4:00 PM CST

Submission Guidelines

Please read our submission guidelines carefully before starting your project. Your game should align with the jam's theme, adhere to the submission deadline, and meet the specified technical requirements.

Entries will be evaluated based on 4 criteria:

  • Player Experience - Broadly covers all the things that go into making a game enjoyable like an intuitive gameplay, no bugs, a good interface, standard controls or a compelling story.
  • Innovation - How unique, new, improved or outside of the box is your game? Make something fresh. No point and clickers.
  • Feats of Strength - Did your game have any impressive features? Multiplayer, replayable, procedural generation, complex behaviors, etc. (Note- I don't consider building an engine impressive. It will not earn or lose you any points.)
  • Duck Factor - An "it" factor that makes your game unforgettable. Maybe that means breathtaking art, storytelling that made you feel something or the juiciest juice you've ever juiced. Find a way to make it pop.
