On December 9th a company hired by Funko, producer of vinyl collector figures "Funko Pops", issued a false fraud report causing itch.io to be temporarily taken down. Allegedly this was to protect Funko's intellectual property rights.

This incident highlights how precarious the environment for indie game designers can be, as indie developers are often at the whims of larger middleman storefronts and services like itch, Paypal, Patreon, Kickstarter, etc. Even momentary interruptions like these can have huge impacts on a creator's income.

In short: fuck Funko, buy indie games!

Support these 10 creators and get 26 tabletop games and supplements in return. The revenue from this sale is split evenly between everyone involved.

For the less than a price of a common Funko Pop, you can keep an indie developer in business.

This bundle was made to spotlight creators at the end of the year, rather than large corporate entities. I want to encourage folks to learn about why itch went dark and how they can help indie creators survive. Funko has a history of compromising the livelihoods of creators with acquisitions and layoffs and I thought we could turn this incident into an opportunity to reflect on our relationships with corporate products--especially during the holidays when they soak up vast sums of wealth.

So please spread the word about this bundle, follow the relevant creators on social media, buy their other games, and find others ways to support your favourite indies.

Spreading word about this bundle is a great way to start. You can also give us a follow, consider buying our other games, or donate wherever possible
