Dont really have much to say, so Mooniverse News: Itchio edition! Since I have 2.5K followers, it just makes sense.
I wanted to get this out because I wanted to be able to focus on the next few weeks without Mooniverse News and its need to exist without it being a distraction.
First bit of news: Development has restarted, this is the final BETA update for Projekt Moon: Hope Awakens. Support, if needed, is never-ending.
After that, development of IN THE BAG begins.
I said this one would be about the Chapter 2 update, behind the scenes and whatnot. However, I don't really remember much about it for some reason. Chapter 1 stuck with me, but the only thing I can remember is seeking redemption for a lackluster release and... not really getting it? It took to the depths of my Chapter 5 update to pass my 1st financial goal many many many months after this update... It DID represent the first time I was ever impressed and happy with my own work. I do remember feeling greatly disappointed in the response to this update. Mostly apathy, like did my work have meaning? I wasn't sure.....
I don't know. Doing this sounded good on paper, but I might need to scour old things to remember more for the next one... I did a little and...
Chapter 2 though was the first time I began to experiment with making my own maps within character studio. Typically finding a similar overmap to what I wanted to do and modifying it to how Tacraw is and should be presented. Alot of learning here... How to move the camera, move the people. Set the people. Apply a few references so people who REALLY PAY ATTENTION can find it and be like... hey... I love that funny detail. (Ugandan Knuckles follows you on your path to Saki, if you choose Mery, he winds up in the trash.)
I also changed my mind about how I wanted to present Projekt Moon. I would do away with sprites sitting above my BGs hovering all weird, but pose them and apply them INTO the BG, to immerse them into the actual BG and make them REALLY into things. The idea was imitating a children's book like Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat or a Shel Silverstein book. I always like Dr. Seuss and Shel Silverstein's styles as a kid. It's something DAZ games do a lot as well, so I figured... Why not PM as well??
Chapter 2 was a foundation of the future and despite it's failings... and the need for the dev section of the Mooniverse to keep me from bad what iffing myself into a bad mindset, it drove me into Chapter 3 part 1. My breakthrough, where I really felt like a true dev. When I really felt like: "I am proud of myself."
