Some of the mechanisms in this game are inspired by You Are A Muffin.

A DC-3 flies through the long Antarctic winter night. The skies are clear and dominated by a waxing gibbous moon. 

Inside the droning airplane the occupants have been lost in thought for many hours, when finally the pilot points and exclaims, "there she is!" Below, showing up as dark blobs against reflected moonlight on ice, is Research Station Dexter. "At last" the Geologist thinks, putting aside a strange sense of foreboding, "my greatest triumph is upon us!"  

Bergschrund is a scenario for DREAD which takes its cues from HP Lovecraft's At The Mountains of Madness and John Carpenter's The Thing. It can be completed in an evening, and it is designed to be easy to Host and naturally create chills and suspense for the Players using The Trajectory of Fear.
