All my Entries from the Desert Bus for Hope Game Jam over the years
Short, Mega Man inspired platformer
This is the post-jam version with longer levels and more music.
The Jam version is still playable, but basically has only the bosses and very stripped down levels.
A runner game featuring the meme Sanic running from Tucson to Las Vegas, on a mission from God.
Yes I was recovering from surgery at the time I made this.
A puzzle platformer in the vein of the old Dizzy games. Specifically the C64 versions. Use items to solve problems and help Bocko the Bus Driver get his keys back using "The Device".
The game is packed full of DB references while still not requiring you to know anything about Desert Bus to enjoy it.
Direct sequel to Super Bus Squad, inspired more by later Mega Man games.
This is the post-jam version of the game, with an extra few weeks of work on top of the base game.
The Jam version is also still playable, but it lacks rebindable controls and a number of other Quality of Life improvements
Completely different genre to the previous Super Bus Squads, this time a side-scrolling brawler.
This is my first brawler and it is very janky.
It also features a level including AI generated images, but in hindsight I'm not proud of it, even if it is making fun of them.
I can't really say more than the short description says...
It's a scathing political satire for ages 5-12
Jacob Burgess, legendary instigator of the Kindness War, came up with this years prompt, so sure. Why not make the game about him too?
