Weird little games/experiences of whatever kind that have caught my attention and blasted any expectations of quality that I had.
Some of the reviews have been written years after playing the games, this will make sure I am unable to (even if I wanted to) spoil any of the best surprises these games hold. Of which there are many I assure you.
Finish this one for me, please. I had such a real and terrifying Deja vu while playing that I had to leave it and haven't been able to play it again. Anyways it's aesthetics are phenomenal and it is quite well written.
takes a bit of time to start getting good but it sure does. Take this advice, be patient.
I don't quite want to spoil much for this one, for it has captivating twists. But it's stellar textures and solid sound design made this a memorable experience for me.
The one that started it all, this is what I compare basically every other vaguely similar game to. Beautiful scenarios, unique characters, a puzzling and implicit story line which unfolds beautifully to attentive eyes. Not sure I can express quite how I feel about this game, I love it, and I even have original screen shots of when I first played. Very recommended!
Not for the faint of heart, also not for the faint of sight. Beware extreme flashing lights, absolute nonsense and general psychedelia (but not that hippie crap).
Very silly, very fun, also very funny. A game I wish existed when I was much younger when I could have dissected it inside out without a care in the world.
Maybe the best looking game I have encountered on itch.io. Incredible art direction with very contrasting colors and intricate, ornate shapes. This game is very well written and its message will be difficult to forget.
Another one which I'm sure I could've dived deeper into. Goblet Grotto is a silly RPG with delectably crude and unique looking spaces.
Honestly didn't play this as much as I think I should've. Simply put, this is a LSD dream emulator sort of experience (without the obscure nonsensical systems). Which will certainly scratch an itch for weird worlds alien to even our rules of existence.
I'm not gonna say much here, just there is quite a lot to see. And, what there is to see is very interesting!
simply beautiful, one of the more interesting looking PSX styled gamed.
Varied and unique "liminal dreams", and a hub world that responds to your progress, make this game worth the while.
Fun, a bunch of different endings. Give this a try.
This game is fun. The island it is set in, while somewhat small, feels very varied and dynamic.
Not sure there is much of value I can say aside of "p l a y i t". Seriously, its insane atmosphere will immerse you like nothing else.
Rather entertaining little exploration adventure. Always happy when games reward exploration.
Subtle and effective worldbuilding through the eyes of a the last of a race of shunned heroes make this short game worth the while. Mind you there is no gameplay.
Short n sweet, great aesthetics, a beautiful track at the end, very funny writing and surprisingly good world building.
Played this so long ago and yet it has stained my brain quite a bit. Great game for getting a feel of what I call "Weird little games", for lack of a better term. (Maybe liminal would work? bit over played tho.)
Instant classic. Devastating the files were lost on this one, but I believe the creator is somehow trying to continue. Keep an eye for when this fully releases. However, as it is right now, it is absolutely phenomenal
