GAMES NEEDING JUST ONE BUTTON TO BE PLAYED!!!
1. BECAUSE IT'S FUN
2. BECAUSE THOSE GAMES WILL BE ACCESSIBLE TO MANY PEOPLE
3. BECAUSE IT'S A REAL CHALLENGE AND A GLORIOUS ONE
4. JUST BECAUSE
ONE RULE TO BIND THEM ALL: ONE BUTTON TO PLAY, AS IN "ONLY ONE BUTTON". It's NOT left, right, up, down "and" one action button. It's NOT mouse and one button. It's litteraly JUST ONE button. I guess you got it by now.
Note : of course you may offer "synonyms" for the same action, and offer the possibility to play with... either a controller, a mouse or the keyboard. As long as there is only one action involved, that's fine!
WHAT IF ONE BUTTON IS REALLY NOT ENOUGH?!? Come on! It's possible!!! But if you REALLY have a good idea needing one more button, you can go there: https://itch.io/jam/2-buttons-jam-2019
You may also want to take a look at another jam related to accessibility and design challenges, the HODUR Jam in which games could played without using your eyes =)

THREE WORDS are given:
DECAY
SLIDE
STRING
You may use one or several of them to inspire you. If you don't, that's fine too.
COS' WE'RE MAD AND/OR AWESOME!!!
WELL, YOU CAN... By following those optional guidelines:
A. Even the menus of your game can be used with only one button (come on, you can do it!).
B. Your game has good contrast and can be used by colorblind people.
C. There's almost no text in your game, to make it playable by people from all over the world!
D. It's possible to play your game online. (it could have an online and an offline version)
E. There's a MuLTIPLaYeR mode in your game!!!!!! Coop or versus... as long as it's one button per player.
F. The game has difficulty settings! One button games can be really easy to play or very challenging. It's up to you! But if there's a way to customize the difficulty level, it's even better.
G. Any new rule or guideline you may add to make your game easily playable.

Yeah, thank you for considering a participation in this game jam!
GO, PEOPLE, AND MAKE WORTHY GAMES. And unworthy ones, too. It's still a good way to learn.
