Topics

These topics are provided as a means of stricture to promote creativity and liberate the creative energy of the participant(s). They will appear during the early bird period for each event.

Submission Period-Topic
Winter '25 2.4HoZZT-"The 100 ammo": Give the player 100 ammo at the start of your game. When the player's ammo reaches 0, the game ends.
Spring '25 2.4HoZZT-
Summer '25 2.4HoZZT-

Rules

You may choose to participate in one, two, or all three jams.

Streaming your dev process is encouraged, it is very cool to see people's minds at work and you might have people in your stream cheering you on. There is a section of the submission page wherein you can place a link to a stream VOD, should you have one.

The development time for an entry should be 2.4 hours, which is 144 minutes. If you run out of time or are interrupted and think you can do better, you may make a second attempt. Please include both entries in your submission and indicate which is which.

Eastman Variation: You may use the provided theme to make a longer-form entry whose development encompasses the entire weekend or weekends. This is known as the Eastman Variation. The resulting submission will be included in the ZZT parade but participants that rank entries might not include Eastman-style entries in their rankings.

Whatever it is you make, ideally Zeta should play ithttps://zeta.asie.pl/ if you're working in an exotic medium, it may be difficult to incorporate you into the ZZT parade but we will not stop you.

Submitting entries should be done within the submission and review period given above. This page will remain available to capture entries from all three compos with the intention of including entries from all three in the subsequent ZZT parade. Note: Because of itch.io restrictions, only one "entry" is allowed per itch.io account, so if you want to enter multiple jams, you will either need to submit from multiple itch.io accounts or create one big "my 2.4hoz jams" page with all your entries.
