Welcome to the 2023 WARLords game jam! This is a relaxed yet still ranked weeklong jam hosted by the First Robotics Competition team 2485. The weeklong setting allows for a full project with some depth in a timeframe that wont have you cancelling plans and locking yourselves in your room over the weekend, perfect for both new and veteran gamedevs trying to dip their toes in the water with game jams. Moderators have programming experience and are happy to help those with any questions during the jam!

Rules:

  • No AI generative tools for assets.
    • Considering that these tools learn off of art they may not have permission to use, we've decided that their usage may indirectly result in unauthorized use of artwork or assets by people not associated with the jam.
    • Feel free to use free assets provided from marketplaces or obtained for free (with permission)! We encourage you to push for original assets, but we understand that is sometimes not possible.
  • No monetization of games submitted during the submission or voting period.
    • Everyone needs to be able to play your game to a reasonable extent. If you want to charge money for it after, go ahead. If you want to charge money for an updated / overhauled / expanded version, go ahead.
  • No NSFW submissions.
  • One submission per team.
    • If you have members of a team who'd like to submit their own projects but still be part of the team, that's okay. The same exact group of people (or individual person) may not submit more than one game.
    • Only one member of a team should register. They will submit the project for the whole group and must credit other authors or co-developers.

Good luck, and have fun!
