two buttons

Which parts of the game did you create BEFORE the jam STARTED?

Over all really nice. The randomness is a bit much, maybe only allow 1 symbol on screen at a time and make sure that each number is spawned every so often. Just to avoid the dodging everything for too long. Neat concept and the controls worked quite well.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback.  I have already modified the random spawner to only have 1 symbol spawning at a time.  Still working out how to change the randomness of the numbers, I have an idea on how to make it work better for the player, but not 100% sure how to code it just yet.  I do have to wait until the jam judging is done to upload the newer version though.

I have also added a save mechanic so the game keeps track of the players level so they don't have to start over every time.

Interesting concept. But I think it could have been implemented better. I like the underwater look. It actually looks like it. But at times I didn't understand which number would change if I collected a new number. You can make that clearer. And once I go beyond the number that I have to reach. Like I had to make 2= and I collected other things and reached 125.5. Now how would I reach back to 2? You should look into it. Maybe a reset collectible. Also there could be other fish that eat up the numbers before you can collect them.

Oh, and the game should be called something like - Professor Fish.

There is a reset collectible based on basic math and even mention how to do it in the How to play.

But it's basic math.  If you multiply anything by 0, you get 0.  ;)

Oh I think I didn't collect any zeroes. I was collecting randomly just to see if and when do I get a game over screen.

Ah yes, there is not any gameover at all at the moment.  Although I've considered adding some enemy fish at some point and maybe something more negative if the player tries to divide by 0.   Currently just makes a sound for that.

I will be adding a save mechanic into the game once we can edit the games.  That way you can keep aiming for the bigger numbers.
