  • Loved this game, the 007 inspiration was a great idea and I loved how the theme was used in many ways! Only feedback is about the background music, interesting idea to apply the theme on it too, but in the end it made the music a little bit annoying after a while. Loved the SFXs though! Also special congrats on the game design and mechanic, they are simple (as supposed for a game jam), but they work flawless.
  • The game was fun to play! Threw me back to the olden days of top down shooters. The audio, while repetitive (but thats acceptable with the given time constraint) was fitting for the game! Kudos to the audio artist. The game design it self was lovely as well! It was well executed and the controls were done amazingly!!
  • Good job, very fun to play! Too bad it wasn't possible to add the last level.

Any feedback about Flame and it's API's?
Flame is awesome and it works extremely well. A more defined roadmap would be nice as updates often require you to rebuild existing applications and tutorials are immediately out of date. The new ray casting seems to possibly introduce an issue with a lot of dynamic sprites using minisprites as frames drop, but this may just be the collision system with too many hitboxes. This would be really nice if it was addressed in either documentation or in Flame.

What features would you like to see in Flame's future?
Expansion on the physics where not as complex as Box2d, but potential for true particles for explosions, joints for like a swinging rope, and gravity.

Did you use mini-sprite? If so, do you have any feedback for us?
Yes. Great tool; however, it starts to break down as the size of the sprites increase or the maps increase. Large maps with lots of parameters stop working when you try to change an existing property or delete an existing property.

Did you use Zapp? If so, do you have any feedback for Invertase?
Yes / No. We tried the tool; however, due to the short timeframe of the jam, working out the integration workflow became secondary to actual coding and as such, we relied on VS Code to get it done as our environment was already established.

All audio was recorded and produced by my wife in midi and using an effects rack to change the pitch, modulation, attack and delay.  All notes played are F and B-flat.  All sound effects were created in the same way, just devolved to produce the static style sound.
