I later found out he was actually a clone, formed by the original wizard performing forbidden ancient experiments. He of course preferred trickery over violence, as he was feeble and frail, even for a wizard. He lured me to his tower with his illusionary magic, where the fool moon is visible through the open sealing, and all portraits are drawn with a phases of the moon prominently. Outsmart the wizard and he will grant you an artifact of the fey. I left his tower with a luck charm.
