    As there was just a PDF submitted in depth feedback is not possible.

     

    Concept design & Development:

    It’s good to see some original character design work. The exploratory character work to flesh out the design was well executed. Evidence of relevant research was carried out.

     

    Technical Art:

    There were no final source files so it’s not possible to discuss the technical aspects of this project.

    One thing to mention is to try ZRemesher in Zbrush to retopo and get a base for the game res mesh as this often works out better and faster than using Maya.

    Creative Art:                       

    The character design is good. The mask form stands out and is simple but memorable. The complimentary colour scheme works well and would fit with a general comic book art style.

    If the character progresses further I’d consider a more specific art style for the work and lean into that. Some examples of games which have a distinct art style that would suit and influence sculpting approaches and material / texture creation would be Darksiders, Overwatch or the Dishonored series, not the gritty aspect of Dishonored but the stylised sculpting approach and painterly textures.

    Written Documentation:

    The document is clear but short going into little specific detail regarding the production.

     Final Presentation:

    The final images are simple and clear. The character posed would have been a leap forward. The lighting is soft and uniform with little contrast or directionality. The artist made a good effort at bringing their design into 3d space.
