  • Very well presented, presenting the animations in engine is a big plus and you've definitely gone the extra mile to get them working and displayed nicely in a scene.

There is a lot of emphasis throughout the document on having little time, and this is totally understandable, but it would've been nicer to hear less about that and more about techniques used, reference gathered and shot or anything else you did, rather than why it is perhaps not as good as it could have been. Sometimes we have to work to very tight deadlines! What can you do to get work out quickly without comprising on quality?

The animations themselves are off to a good start but definitely lack detail.

    Idle

I'd like to see a default pose that tells us more about this character personality. It looks evil, but is it? What sort of mannerisms does it have, is it nervous and twitchy or boisterous and aggressive? This default pose doesn't give us enough information about what kind of creature it is.

Also a bit long. Could probably end at 9s.

    Power up

The anticipation pose on the power up is a little unclear, it shows the creature hunching but between the motion blur and the unclear silhouette, it doesn't telegraph much. The roar following the anticipation needs more of a moving hold, and some noise/shake on the creature to give off a sense of physical effort being given off, as currently it just looks still or unanimated.

Overall, this is a pretty good effort that mainly suffers from being a bit rushed. I'd be very interested to see what kind of entry this would've been if more time had been dedicated.

  • Overall really nice work. Well presented with good documentation and breakdown of animations. Good working method to the idle with a great result. Would be nice to see one leg put forward during the power up animation as this would add more believeability.

Would be nice to see more varied poses on the attack animation at the end. Really love the jump animation, good work!

  • Excellent work for just 2 days! Great loop and secondaries, with good weighting and motion. The jump is excellent & great timing with the use of smear. Some issues with looping (tail in idle pose for example), but for the time spent this is a great achievement!
