For being your very first FPS, I think you've already hit the nail on the head of what makes a fun game. You don't need to make things extremely complicated or in-depth, you can have just a simple gameplay loop of a gun that fires and enemies that make their position clear and that's it. Flying around is fun, the presentation is charming, and it was really cute to shoot my tail.
