What is Dododado?
Dododado is a GameJam project developed by Merendola Bandolera. The GameJam theme was Evolution, Trial and Error.

We decided to implement a roguelike stlye of gameplay that revolves around evolution, forcing the player to learn and get better through trial and error.

In this game, players will explore a procedurally generated map, battle extinct enemies, and evolve their dice to survive. Something we wanted to achieve with Dododado is to create a game that feels fresh and original. All the game content, including the dice mechanics, enemy designs, and evolution systems, was carefully crafted from scratch. Everything except the background music was crafted by our artists, including the shaders, the models, the figures, the sound effects, the textures...


"Roll, Evolve, Survive"
In Dododado, you wander around a world filled with extinct or critically endangered creatures. Your goal is to survive by rolling, evolving, and mutating your dice. Thanks to the vast amount of evolutions and mutations in our game, each run is unique, providing to high replayability.

You'll have to face off against a lot of foes. From the harmless Dodo to the mighty Mammoth, each enemy has unique abilities and lore that tie into the theme of evolution and extinction.

How Do I Play Dododado?
Just download the game, unzip it, and most importantly, enjoy!

Controls:

Mouse:
Left Click: Everything, just follow our intuitive UI (you could even say it's a ONE BUTTON game 😉).
Keyboard:
Escape: Open pause menu.

Roguelike Gameplay: Each run is unique, with procedurally generated maps, enemies and infinite possibilities gameplay-wise.
Dice Customization: Evolve and mutate your dice to unlock powerful abilities.
Unique Enemies: Face off against prehistoric creatures like the Dodo, Saiga, Woolly Rhinoceros, Steppe Bison, Saber-Toothed Cat, Megaloceros and Mammoth, each with unique abilities.
Evolution Mechanics: Complete objectives to evolve your dice and gain permanent upgrades.
Mutations: Add offensive, defensive, or neutral mutations to your dice for unique effects.
