Make a complete game in 90 days and Ship It! This includes development, art, music, marketing, publishing, everything you need to do to ship a game by August 7th 2021!

Howdy, and welcome to the 90 Day Ship It! Jam, hosted by Game Endeavor and the GE community! In 90 days I am creating a commercial game and so I've invited my community and everyone else to join me on this journey.

The goal is to create an entire game in 90 days, and it can be any kind of game you want. You can even bring in an existing project if you think you can finish it by the deadline. Because of this there will not be any votings/ratings or even a theme.

A big part of this event is that we're going to be posting our daily progress in our Discord. This is not a requirement but is highly encouraged and a big part of this event! The GE Community is all about encouraging each other as developers, improving our skills, and showcasing our projects.

It is especially important to not overscope during this project. 90 days is a lot shorter than you think, especially if you're creating all of the code, art, music, sfx, marketing and everything else involved in the game.

If you're creating a commercial game, you will need to submit a demo for this jam so that everyone can play it, be sure to include some time for that as well.

FAQs

  • Do we have to make a commercial game?
    • No, you do not. You can make whatever you want, but some of us in the GE community are working on commercial projects, and this is a little push to get us to finish and encourage everyone to talk about our projects. Some people have decided to just make a demo in 90 days, which is a fantastic way to do this.
  • Can we work in teams?
    • Yes! By all means feel free to team up to work on your game. If you're making a commercial game though, then put a lot of thought into who you're working with and make sure you've established what will happen should someone leave the project early.
  • What's the theme?
    • There isn't one, unless you want to count "make a full game" as the theme. I want this to be as flexible as possible for anyone wanting to work on whatever project they have going on.
  • Can I use <INSERT THING>
    • If you are legally allowed to use it then yes! Go for it.

Anything you create during this jam is legally yours. This game jam is just an event to motivate developers to create something.
